Well done you have taken the biggest step.
How many DC do you have? Just think of it as a new way of life for you all, picture a new slim Mummy running about with them on the beach and hold the thought.

I have 8 stone to loose as well! I joined SW 7 weeks ago + now I'm 1/8th of the way there so don't dwell on the fact its happened, focus on the fact you have taken that first difficult step and how better you are going to feel (and look!!) once the weight starts coming off !!

hey - hows it going for you so far???

Flocci · 16/12/2007 12:28

Can I join you? I have 6 1/2 stone to lose and I am in total despair. I have been stable at this weight for a couple of years and now finally want to fix it but it seems like the impossible.

I have been on a diet now for 3 weeks and lost just 6 pounds. OK that is a start, but Jees it's only a drop in the ocean. I am already feeling miserable, and am thinking about food all the time - I am totally obsessed. Don't know if I can really do it. If the weight was coming off a bit quicker it would help but for me at this weight with so much to lose I think 2 pounds a week isn't enough.

Does anyone else feel like they are attempting the impossible?

roisin · 16/12/2007 13:11

2 lb a week is fine - it's a stable and sustainable weight loss.

I've been doing WW since September and have lost 24 lb. Got about another 20 lb to go.

But I feel so much better in myself.

I'm doing Core Plan which has got me into much healthier habits of cooking and eating.

CarGirl · 16/12/2007 13:19

I will be honest that I'm at how much you have to lose (it's more than I weigh at the moment) but I want to sincerely wish you all lots & lots of determination and success and that it all goes steadily & permanently. I have previously been overweight & I am a chocolate addict and I know my self discipline is really non-existent so I'm very impressed that you've all taken the first step and choosing to do something about it.

HorseyWoman · 20/12/2007 15:46

Flocci, think about what would be happening to your weight if you weren't losing 2lb a week? I know it seems like very little, but if you lost 2lb a week consistently, then by next Christmas you'd be well past your target weight and probably advising people with weight to lose who are posting here.

I have lost about 3 stone since September. I lost some when I was on holiday in Gran Canaria. The great thing for me is that I have done it without doing anything. Hypnosis has changed my attitude to food and diets and I no longer attend clubs or try to lose a stone in a week. My exercise, as always, is a lot. The way I got to being so big was through severe illness, so I am proud that now I am also a lot fitter than I was when ill and almost back to normal fitness. I eat what I want when I am hungry and I have no hang-ups.

Good luck everyone! I want to be at my target by next xmas as hubby and I want to try for our first baby )))

I just wanted to say, well done to you for making this step.

WW really, really works - I had 7 stone to loose in the middle of April (07) - Im now 5 stone, 7 pounds lighter and have a stone and a half to go. Have gone from size 20 to a 12 - I just want to offer some encouragement.

Also, go to minimins.com and to the ww section - it is unbelievable support and motivation - I couldnt have came this far without it.

the very very best of luck xxx
