1:1 diet 12 week target

Hi!

I know this diet doesn't always have the most positive feedback and I know it's not the best way to lose weight BUT it works! I desperately need to lose as much weight as possible in the next 12 weeks so I'm starting tomorrow and wondered if anyone else was on/thinking of starting 1:1 diet (Cambridge)

Realistically, I need to lose 5-6 stone to be "normal" but starting with 3 stone goal. Once I get there then I will work up the steps and follow calorie control to keep loosing.

I recently became pregnant after a year of trying but sadly had a chemical. However, I was also terrified of being pregnant and so overweight so I really need to do this for me and future baby to make sure I'm as healthy as possible!

Would be great to have some support as I will defo need it!

I started with shakes (Slimfast) and swapped over to calorie counting after a few months. It worked for me as it helped break the addiction to food. I've lost 5 stone and am now at a healthy weight. Star Just keep reminding yourself of the goal. Good luck!

Hi, I'm doing the same as you, 5 stone to lose, doing 1:1 to kick start it. Day 2 was rubbish but today seems to be going better

How are you doing?

gigella · 22/09/2021 22:02

@Fenellapitstop hey! Glad to have just one person on the same plan!! Realistically, I should have a 5 stone goal for loss too but that just seems to much to start so focusing on just sticking to it for 12 weeks and I should hit 3 stone in that time give or take!

I'll finish week one tomo and have first weigh in. Haven't been too bad, had to have a slice of bread the other night as I took really strong painkillers and it made me go all weird. Aside from that I've been good! Water wasn't the best today but tomo is another day!

What do you find hardest? Day 2 is the worst day I find. Try and stick it out to day 5 then hunger really goes and you're on to a winner x

I ate my daughters sugar snaps and cherry tomatoes from her lunch box last night. I've been tracking everything on my fitness pal so it's easy for the next phase. I have weigh in day next Monday. The hardest bit is cooking dinner for everyone but me and not tasting to check the seasoning and things. I'm batch cooking this week for them to try and avoid it. I'm back to work tomorrow which will be a real challenge.

Fenellapitstop · 24/09/2021 05:25

@gigella how weasel your week one weigh in?

gigella · 24/09/2021 21:31

@Fenellapitstop that's the hardest isn't it! I always taste test, one spoon is not going to hurt! Lost 4lbs this week, not the best but my water wasn't great on a couple of days so need to stay focused this week!

How you going?

4lbs is 4lbs. I'm doing ok. Needed to drink more yesterday which was difficult

Dogatetheleftovers · 25/09/2021 07:08

Following with interest as I’m planning to start next week hopefully. I’m so impressed by everyone’s efforts, well done. You have all encouraged me that this is possible.

Fenellapitstop · 26/09/2021 10:03

@gigella how are you doing with the water, I'm drinking the recommended amount but ended up constipated so I now have soluble fibre to add to things. My first weigh in is due tomorrow

gigella · 27/09/2021 07:40

@Fenellapitstop had an "off" day yesterday as had lunch out with family and didn't want to be awkward. That's the annoying thing about this diet but I only had that one meal all day and no alcohol so hopefully won't be too bad! Going to be super strict the rest of week and just do 3 products to balance it out

How you.m doing?

@Dogatetheleftovers if you stick to it, you will not regret it! I lost 4 stone in just under 4 months in 2024 and I felt bloody amazing! But I'm back as I didn't keep up healthy eating! Good luck!

Fenellapitstop · 27/09/2021 09:17

Weigh in this morning. 8lbs off and 2cm off my waist. I'm sure your dinner out was ok as Iong as you made good choices

Dogatetheleftovers · 02/10/2021 11:27

I’m due to start with the NHS plan tomorrow. It consists of 5 x Fortisip protein drinks each day plus water, stock cube for salt intake. Can also have 3 x sticks sugar free chewing gum per day. Will have to take a Fybogel sachet daily too. I’ve got to stick to this for 10 weeks and I’m not sure how I’ll do this when I’ll be cooking for the rest of the family. But I have no choice, my health is severely impacted by my weight.

Fenellapitstop · 02/10/2021 11:59

@Dogatetheleftovers that sounds really hard! Good luck. I'm feeling so much better now I'm seeing some results. I'm finding it hard to drink enough water because I'm out and about a lot at work. I'm struggling a bit with the constipation so now add soluble fibre to the soups and shakes. I've had a sneaky check of my weight today and it looks like another 5lbs off since Monday. @gigella how are you doing?

Dogatetheleftovers · 02/10/2021 15:55

How does everyone find preparing family meals but having to be very restricted yourself?

Fenellapitstop · 02/10/2021 17:23

I'm batch cooking a fair bit so I don't have to.
