I'm just so pleased with myself so far and I can't gloat in real life without looking like a huge dickhead.

BUT I've lost almost 5 stone this year so far and I'm so fucking proud of myself.

Anyone else want to give themselves a big pat on the back?

IdblowJonSnow · 12/09/2021 08:50

incredible op! Congratulations!

Girlintheframe · 12/09/2021 08:53

That's an incredible achievement. Well done!!

Boxme · 12/09/2021 08:54

That's amazing! You should be proud! Are you at your goal now or do you not have one in mind?

I've lost 3stone 5lbs since about October last year. I'm not quite where I want to be weight wise (would like a healthy BMI and a few lbs to go!) but feel so much better in myself that it's hard to keep motivated to get rid of the last bit!

CouldBeTime · 12/09/2021 09:04

Well done!

I feel proud that I've healed my relationship with food after yo yo dieting for years. I feel freedom in way I never thought I could.

TheUnquestionedAnswer · 12/09/2021 09:13

Well done OP. Did you go to a slimming group? I'm trying to talk myself into starting one for the first time ever, next week.

Pinkycheeks · 12/09/2021 09:17

Fantastic achievement!!! Tell us how you did it! StarStarStar

DomPom47 · 12/09/2021 09:17

Very well done. I am struggling with weight loss and it is nice to hear that it can be done.

Sorry for bragging then running! My son woke up in tears pretty much just as I pressed post.

Huge congratulations to everyone else who has been losing weight this year, some massive amounts!

I've lost it with a mix of things. I started in February but not going full tilt like I am now as I was still EBF my son, I just cut out the treats then mainly.
From May I went back to my half assed version of intermittent fasting where I can drink coffee all day and eat in social situations (eg I never say no if offered an ice cream Grin) but generally just eat my relatively healthy evening meal. Takeaway night every Saturday.

Before I was pregnant I generally only ate an evening meal too but I also drank A LOT so all the liquid toast cancelled out the cal deficit of the day, generally weighed about the 200lb mark. I then piled more on during pregnancy by going to 3 meals a day, WFH and massive water retention. I was 280lb the day before my son was born. I then dropped to around 250lb after giving birth and stayed there until Feb when I started feeling more like me again. I'm now 180lb and aiming for 140lb in the long run (5'8") but will be happy at 150lb.

Sorry for the essay!

I have also walked loads over the summer, with the pram or with my baby in a sling. I've been trying to get out every day, some days just a few miles but two days a week I try and do 8-ish miles.

8.5st Shock @Shopgirl1 that is amazing! How did you do it?

Big pat on the back to @LegoCaltrops*,*@Lexie365, @MitheringMytryl, @MattDamon (5st twin!), @ilovespinach, @Boxme and @CouldBeTime.

I didn't go to a slimming group @TheUnquestionedAnswer although I've been tempted by the more exercise focused Bootcamp ones. I don't think the slimming groups would be for me plus I'm aware my eating habits are probably disordered but I'm very much all or nothing so couldn't have 'free' foods without bingeing on them.

@tnetenba i just completely cleaned up my diet, made sure I got lots of protein, veg, cut out processed sugar, only eat complex carbs, good fats, and lots of water. My tastebuds have changed, I love fruit and nuts as a snack now. I only drink alcohol at weekends. And I’m very active, I started with walking lots, now I run 4-5 times a week. It’s become habit now, hopefully I never go back to my old ways!

tnetenba · 12/09/2021 11:42

@Shopgirl1 I'm really hoping to start running too. I've always loved the idea of it but I've always struggled when I've tried. I'm going to give couch to 5k another shot once I've lost more weight as I think the extra pounds affected my joints too much when I've tried in the past.

It's good that your attitude to food has changed too, I think I'm getting there with that but still crave toast and chocolate.
