Back to basics

So I've messed up weightloss wise. Wanting quick results which in the long term has damaged my body and self esteem. Tried fasting yesterday (was intending on trying 5:2 again) but felt really ill by mid afternoon. So I switched my nutracheck back to well balanced goal plan and plan to focus on watching what cals go in and what cals I burn!

Fed up now of being fat, fed up now of feeling old before my time. I hate what I see in the mirror.

Anyone want to join me on my back to basics plan?

I'm fortunate enough to own a spin bike, a rowing machine and various other small pieces of exercise equipment and love get fit with Rick on YouTube to get some steps in.

Yesterday I weighed my heaviest ever, 14st 8.8lb and at 5ft 3 I am at least 4 and a half stone over weight. I have a long term joint problem too which the excess pounds makes much worse, I have been given the all clear by my physio to exercise again. Monday is my weigh in day.

My first goal is to drop 1 and a half stone by Christmas. No food or drink is off limits as long as I log it on nutracheck and stay within a weekly calorie goal. Plus exercise exercise exercise...... 💪

Posting to keep me accountable in the long term!

I'll join, I'm on another thread too but the more I'm on the better I'll be! I'm 13st 8, I was 14st 4, I'm 5 ft 7.5. I don't have a goal weight so much as a goal size. But I would like to lose 1st 7 in total by Christmas(actually I would like to lose more but I want to alter my whole mindset about food so it might take a little longer).

I love your username! I'm with you on that one. I think 1st 7 is totally doable by Christmas..... if we lose more then that's a bonus isn't it!!

Good luck both!!! I’m kind of doing the opposite in that I’m not too worried about overall calories but watching the types of foods I’m eating as I want to be filling my body with as much good stuff as possible. My aim is to lose some weight (although I don’t weigh myself, just going by the mirror) but mostly I want to feel fit, strong, energetic and healthy again!! I’m trying my best to change my mindset around food and eat sustainably and healthily. Hopefully we’ll all be happier and lighter by Christmas!!

I'm doing okay, walked about 4 miles today, managed to eat well. The 4 miles wouldn't sound too much to most but I've been verging on agoraphobia for a while and so getting out of the house is a win to me. Not down anymore yet, but I'm just trying to be slow and steady so I don't mind too much! Well done OP.

SkinnyCoffeeBean · 26/08/2021 09:21

Hey the 4 miles is MASSIVE given your state of mind, well done!! I don't think covid has helped anyone and I can see how verging on being agoraphobic has happened, I have come very close to it myself. I am a 'keyworker' as I have a small support role in my local school. Had I not had that I wouldn't have left the house at all during the last 18 months or so. All shopping had been done online and any socialising, whilst it feels great, still comes with a massive worry...... am I doing the right thing, are they doing the right thing, the queues, the booking ahead..... I just don't know if its worth it sometimes! Are you getting any support with it @fuckingsickofcovid?

So cheeky mid week weigh in shows 3lbs down. And I just had a wonderful follow up with my physio (via a phonecall). I am to get some further treatment for a joint problem I have had nearly all my life which is wonderful. Normally the system drops me when a flare up settles and we just wait for another flare up to resume. This time they don't want to drop my but help for the long term gain..... I could jump for joy (well I would if it didn't trigger an injury 😂).

I bought a coat yesterday that I can't zip up but it's gorgeous, great for UK weather and it was a great price (and they didn't have the next size up). So my challenge for the short term is to get into the coat for when the weather changes!

Hi both! Was feeling rubbish yesterday as was first day of my period and had a small glass of wine and a bar of chocolate. However, I also stuck to really healthy meals and managed a good walk so overall not too bad really. Woke up today feeling much better, hormones have subsided a little and craving choc has gone. Had a healthy breakfasts and lunch and I’ve gone a step further and ditched the coffee I keep saying I’ll throw away. So far I’ve had two cups of hot water and fresh lime - it’s honestly lovely.
