Today I tried to focus on increasing fibre & totted up how much I ate, I was aiming for 30g but only got to 20g! Any tips on snacks/ meals to increase fibre?
I had:
Cereal 3g
2x granary toast 4g
30g Peanut Butter 3g
Jacket potato 4g
Half tin of beans 6g

Flax seeds (ground)
Chia seeds
I have both the above in yogurt, they are high fibre.
You have to make sure you drink something with the chia seeds or they can absorb water in your system and can cause a blockage!
Popcorn, avocado, lentils added to stew, bol or curry
Chickpeas.

If you are going for weight loss, just wanted to point out that peanut butter is calorific-sorry!
Peanut butter with two slices of (hovis) granary toast without butter would be 400 calories- which is fine if it makes you feel full.

The seeds @LadyFannyButton mentioned. A cup of raspberries contains 8g of fibre and an apple around 3-4g.

Oats are high in fibre too!

My meal plan for today, in case it helps. This added up to 40 grams of fibre in total

Breakfast - Overnight oats with raspberries & nectarine & pumpkin seeds = 12 grams

Lunch - Spicy bean wrap (beans, tomatoes, peppers, cheese & white wrap) = 8 grams

Dinner - Roasted vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, courgette, aubergine and fennel) and bulgur wheat = 17 grams. Bulgur is an amazing source of fibre!

Snack - Twiglets = 3 grams

Fibre supplement- two teaspoons of pysillium husks mixed into a small glass of smoothie = about 11g

No taste just makes a thicker smoothie

Wash down with a big glass of water

Very hard to achieve 30g a day every day without a supplement. Hats off to anyone achieving that

I sometimes add 25g All Bran Original to oats and fruit. That has 27g fibre per 100g . Bran flakes have less fibre, but some.

Or you can but phyllium husk capsules. I take two a day as really struggle with fiber.
