What helped you curb your snacking habit?

Working from home has made me realize what a snacker I am. I have put on a bit of weight because of this, but can’t really find a way to stop. I snack on mostly healthy stuff, but still the amount adds up. It’s more like boredom snacking, a break, a reward. It becomes more after dinner even if I have a filling dinner

Any tips to stop this? Any snackers out there?

I’m a grazer. I have smaller meals, so that overall my calorie count is within reason. So I have breakfast, then hot choc and a banana at 10, a salad and protein (no carbs) at lunchtime, a few nuts and an apple mid afternoon if I’m hungry. I avoid crisps and biscuits and have a couple of large choc buttons if I need a chocolate fix.

I count calories using my fitness pal. It helps me keep it in check.
in general though I don't have a problem with lower calorie meals to compensate. I like snacks too!

Hot drinks. Also, in the evening, a hobby - I knit, but anything you need to keep you hands clean for is good. Cross stitch or embroidery for example. Or adult colouring books, with the really tiny details.

Im like this - I too many snacks and evenings are just a snackfest.

I started calorie counting a month ago to lose weight with the help of a PT. I told him about my snacking habits and in my plan he has made my main meals smaller allowing me to still snack during the day and then have a bigger snack in the evening. With the calorie counting then, its like I am held accountable for my snacking because Im tracking all my food at the minute.

I've also quickly learnt that those 4 bourbons I would have mid morning with a cuppa are the same calorie wise as a 20g kit kat and a pack of low cal crisps - and I'd much rather have the chocolate and crisps v the biscuits

I joined an expensive gym and got a fitbit. I know I burn 350 cals in a Zumba class and would rather not munch it all back

Walking is really good too. Relaxing, free and easy to fit in.

I’m not calorie counting, but I am keeping a food diary which is really helpful for me. Depends on your mindset though. For me - I wouldn’t lie, but equally I’d hate to write that I’d eaten half a pack of biscuits, so I don’t eat the biscuits.

Counting calories, mfp and protein.

Strict time window. Eg 3-30. Outside of that, touch luck. Same in the evening. Pre planned healthy lower cal but not diet snack. Just that, no swapsies.
You know it's coming so it's easy to say "no. Half an hour wiat and that's it". Well... It gets easier😁
