Whoops she made it, whoops she made it, whoops she made it - how about that?!

I started Weightwatchers Online in March, joined a class about 10 weeks ago and tonight - trumpet fanfare please - I hit my goal weight and became a Gold Member (ooer, sounds rude)

Have lost 35.5 pounds and am now 9 stone, 6 and a half

Am off now to drink wine, eat chocolate and generally stuff myself silly!

I make no apologies for the self-congratulatory tone of this post: it's been bl**dy hard work and I am well chuffed with myself

PuffTheMagicDragon · 08/11/2004 20:05

Many, many congratulations marthamoo .

roisin · 08/11/2004 21:15

Wahey! Well done you! That's fantastic.

Do keep going and weighing-in; I think one of the big advantages of WW is the maintenance programme, free membership etc.

jasper · 08/11/2004 21:38

well done slimMartha.
Did it make a difference going to a real life class?

Thankyou

Yorkiegirl, you're doing fantastically well and you WILL get there!

Jasper - yes, a RL class was better. Online, it's very easy to get blase, have a bad day, let it turn into a bad week, and tell yourself "oh I'll get back on track next week..."
Having to go each week and be weighed by someone IRL is far more of an incentive. And yes, roisin, I am definitely going to keep going - it's free now and I am allowed to put on up to 5lbs, so I have a bit of slack, so to speak!

Congratulations Marthamoo - one day I hope to be just like you (gold member that is, although I'm sure you're very aspirational in every way ).

suzywong · 09/11/2004 05:26

Wow - That is absolutely fantastic, well done.

Ooooh, I missed this yesterday. You pouting babe you!

Hulababy · 09/11/2004 19:54

Fantastic; well done!!!

marthamoo · 09/11/2004 21:22

How fast do you think I can put 35.5 pounds back on? Have just eaten half a packet of caramel biscuits and 3 Hungry Hippo biscuits which were disgusting (kids won't eat 'em) but I ate them anyway...aaaarrrggghh!

Dior, I don't know that I have any great tips other than to keep going - and if you have a bad day don't think "oh well sod it then" and give up. I like cooking so I bought several of the cookery books and the recipes were things I could cook for all of us so I didn't have to eat differently to everyone else (I would bulk up the kids calories by grating cheese on theirs etc.) Also you really do have to count everything - and write it down - 'cos it's so easy to forget what you've eaten. If it goes in my mouth (oooer) I write it down. And I fought against it for a long time because it did feel like real dieting - but in the end I realised that I really did have to weigh out things like rice and pasta - cos I am very generous with a serving spoon

Bran, I am - obviously - aspirational in all areas of my being: but you can get that gorgeous gold keyring too and be like me in that one, small way

Wobbly - if I had any real willpower it wouldn't have taken me this long!!!

wobblyknicks · 09/11/2004 21:25

mm - even slow willpower would help me atm!! Managed to los a lot but its creeping back on now and scaring me!!!

marthamoo · 09/11/2004 21:31

Can you go to a WW class? I do think that's good for getting back on track - it's the public humiliation aspect of it!

well done marthamoo "I spy" another motivational weight loss story. You have really cheered me up as this diet lark can get a bit grinding at times. well done well done well done!!

kkgirl · 10/11/2004 09:04

Marthamoo

Well done, thats brilliant.
It took me from May to Oct to lose about 17lbs, a lot slower than you and not so much.
Unfortunately when I became a gold member, I stopped trying to lose anymore.
I started off at 12st 6lb, and would really like to get under 11st.
Once you stop going to the weekly class though, the motivation drops, I haven't put much on, but its too tempting to just have a chocolate bar and then another.

Well done though, it must have been really hard for you.
