Early last year I came to the decision that I was going to go on the waiting list for weight loss surgery. At that time I was over 21st at 5'7" having put on 3 stone since having my daughter (and being overweight my entire life). Unfortunately my DH passed away suddenly in October last year and so now weight loss surgery is off the cards - I have nobody to look after my DD for the recovery period and I also wouldn't take the risk as I'm now her only parent.
I've managed to lose 2st, mostly through grief-related not eating, but have totally plateaued and can't see how I can go any further alone. I don't know if I have a messed up metabolism or if my PCOS has impacted me more than I think but even on a 1200 cal a day diet 6 days a week (the 7th I have a takeaway and a glass of wine) I'm stuck, so I need some help. Hence the Saxenda.
Has anyone else seen any success with it? If it works I will use the savings I had set aside for WLS to fund a 12 month course which will hopefully get me nearer to my goal of achieving a healthy BMI.
