Hi about to go into Gastric Sleeve and Gallbladder removal surgery, can anyone give me advice for afterwards what to expect? Or even what to expect beforehand, thanks 😊

I didn’t have my gallbladder out at the same time as my sleeve as I’d already had it out. But after my sleeve I felt absolutely rotten for 24 hours, rough for the following 24 hours and fine although tired for a few days after that. The grotty feeling was from the gas and anaesthetic not the surgery itself if that makes sense.

You’ll probably have quite a few keyhole incisions so make sure you keep an eye on them so they don’t get infected. I had zero problems after my sleeve but one incision got a bit gunky after the gallbladder.

You might find it hard to sit up from lying down and you should definitely take it as easy as possible for a couple of weeks to give yourself enough healing time. Weirdly I had no tenderness or problems sitting up after the sleeve but felt a lot more tender after the gallbladder.

Best of luck with it - you’ll feel amazing without a painful gallbladder and when the weight starts to come off!! My sleeve is the best thing I’ve ever done.

Hi! Thanks so much for replying- yeah the surgery caused me to be really tired and get random moments of tiredness which causes me to even feel abit down because I’m like waiting to feel normal again! I’m also a bit worried that if I don’t have enough milk it could be a problem/ right now I’m just drinking a lot of water and about a plastic cup of milk and abit of soup here and there. I’m really hoping that I’ll look back and say like wow this was a good decision because right now I’m still feeling terrible! But then again it was only 4 days ago so it’s probably normal to feel like this? X

Hi @QweenAlexis just PM’d you.

Also didn’t realize when I sent message you were the person having gallbladder out at same time in which case your body has been through a double shock. So stick with it. It’ll be 💯 worth it.

Thanks yeah it’s a double whammy
