Can't seem to lose weight while Breastfeeding!

Hey all, I'm breastfeeding a 10m DD still and I just can't seem to shift any weight at all.

I've lost all the weight I gained in pregnancy (1 stone ish) bar a couple of lbs, HOWEVER, I was already 2 stone overweight at 12s7 and 5ft4. I really could do with getting to 10s7 and it's starting to upset me now as nothing fits and I buy and buy but don't feel great.

Did anyone find they were in a similar position with breastfeeding, and did anything at all help besides stopping!? I don't really want to stop until 12-18 months if I can help it but I'm just so frustrated with the lack of weight loss.

Help!

Hi, I'm breastfeeding for the second time round and overweight (from pregnancy)

I expect nothing this time. First time round I lost barely anything no matter how hard I tried. 2 years I was bfeeding too so I felt like forever. I asked my doctor and described my eating and excersize and he said it was most likely hormonal.

I lost almost all the first pregnancy weight within 6 months of stopping....then got pregnant again 😅

If you want to keep breastfeeding do it and try not to feel like you must lose the weight. Its going to happen eventually and a year or 2 does go fast

Yep, same here! Couldn't shift a single one of the excess lbs when breastfeeding but it fell off when I stopped. Don't worry! Don't even think about it for now.

Breastfeeding prevented me losing weight. In the end I stopped breastfeeding because I was sick of being fat. When j stopped I lost 2st in a couple of months.

^ it is reassuring to know others have been in a similar position and lost it afterwards!
I just really want to start feeling good about myself again and looking good in photos. I've had some bloody horrendous pictures taken recently and can't believe I look this big. Stuff that fit me when I thought I was fat before now actually doesn't fit! Even if I could just shift a stone I'd be happy 😖

I do appreciate though that the first year or so is hard work with a baby, and I need to be kind to myself so I am trying to be
