IF - Does it work if you fast for less than 16 hours?

I know most people do 16:8 but those timings don't always work of for me with juggling everything. This week I've fasted for:
17 hours
15 hours
15 hours
14 hours

However some days it's probably 12 hours. Is that even worth doing?

Work for what? Fasting doesn’t always mean weight loss it’s suppose to make your gut healthier. I’m read some articles which suggest that shorter fasting periods are better for women but as usual most medical studies are based on men.

Studies show that 14hrs+ is when the benefits kick in.

I naturally fast for 18 hours a day, not on purpose, it's just the window I happen to eat in. I'm still overweight... It's not a magic wand! It's always about how many calories you eat. If you eat too many calories for your bodily requirements you will remain overweight, even if you fast for 23 hours a day!
