Zumba to lose weight?

I've heard Zumba is very fun and fast music that'll get u dancing so I'm thinking it might be good to lose weight? What do ppl think?

Also if yes it'll help then I'm not sure if their music will suit my tastes. The sort of music that moves my big arse is

Steps 5678
Macarena
Cotton eye joe
Homey cokey

So ideally I need a group including my love of cheesy pop to help me lose weight. Any ideas

It's good cardio imo
My Zumba instructor was really good and emphasized keeping on moving and having fun over getting the steps right which is the attitude that I need.

I had a quick look on YouTube and saw some videos with playlists. I'm not on Spotify but I suspect that it'll have music too. The music is generally not in English but I find myself singing in my head to bits

It's fun but unless you zumba several hours every day you won't lose weight. Go for it though - any cardio is good.

It’s great fun and a great cardio workout if you really push yourself. Losing weight is more about diet though. Exercise has loads of benefits independently of losing weight.
