I need to loose 3 stone in 10 weeks. Is it possible? Anyone got a sucess story of how I can do it?
I've let myself get fat and unfit. I hate it and need to change it. There is an event in 10 weeks and I don't want to turn up like this!!

What's your starting weight ad height?

laughoutquiet · 14/05/2021 21:24

*and

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/05/2021 21:27

Why don’t you make some changes and try and be in the best shape that’s possible and sensible rather than aiming for something so dramatic and unlikely?

Low carb, VLC, intermittent fasting, there are plenty of options and what’ll work for you will depend on your current weight and lifestyle.

QueenAdreena · 14/05/2021 21:29

That’s over 4 pounds a week isn’t it? Or is my maths wrong? I would have thought you’d make yourself ill losing that much weight over that many weeks.

Prisonbreak · 14/05/2021 21:46

It’s a big target in a short space but it depends on your starting weight. I’m 9 weeks in and I’m down 1 stone 6lbs and I consider that a quick loss. I doubt I could have done much more to lose quicker

heyyyall · 14/05/2021 21:52

Height 5ft 2 and weight 14 stone.
It's a big target and probably unrealistic I know when I think about it logically. I'm just so fed up and there are so many diet options I just don't know which ones actually work!

I'm the heaviest I've ever been and feeling so down about it.

I just don't know where to start.

Have a look at The New You Plan. Big losses in a short space of time.

Splann · 14/05/2021 21:57

Have a look at the Fast 800. It’s not for everyone but if you stick to it people lose loads. There are some good Facebook groups for it with lots of help and inspiring results. I’m on week 3 of 12 weeks and I’ve lost nearly 1 stone. It’s tough though but I’m liking the knock on health benefits as well as the weight loss - sleeping better, more energy, clear skin and my blood pressure has lowered.

Good luck x

QueenAdreena · 15/05/2021 09:41

OP, at the start of the first lockdown I was also 14 stone (also 5.2). As I said upthread I think 3 stone is too much, but if it helps I lost 2 stone in 3 months. That did involve monitoring every single thing that I ate with My Fitness Pal (the app will set you a target calorie intake), making sure I did at least 10,000 steps a day and also doing at least 30 mins (sometimes 60 mins) of more intensive exercise a day.

GetTheStartyParted · 15/05/2021 14:47

I did keto and lost 30lbs in the first 10 weeks.

My starting weight was 15st5 and I'm 5ft2.

Good luck OP, whatever you chose though please research it so you can do it safely.

Serenschintte · 15/05/2021 14:50

Take a look at The Human Being Diet Petronella Ravenschear. If you follow it I think you have a good chance to lose what you want too. And also to feel a lot better

Divineswirls · 15/05/2021 15:35

Fast 800 cut out all carbs and sugar

GlutenFreeGingerCake · 15/05/2021 15:40

I would aim to lose 20lb, tone up a bit, and buy a really flattering outfit, it's more realistic and would still make you look good.

JellyBabiesFan · 15/05/2021 15:45

No it most certainly is not. Please do not even try.

Change your nutrition plan to cut out processed food. Eat lean meats, fish, veg, nuts and some rice, pasta or potato

Do not listen to anybody who says 3 stone in 10 weeks is doable. Any method claming to lose that much weight in 2 and a half months will not be healthy.

MeanMrMustardSeed · 15/05/2021 15:52

Fast 800. Follow Micheal Mosley and do what he says. Look up the channel 4 (?) programme he did last summer for inspiration.

I find it easier to commit to a timeframe of diet / exercise rather than a weight aim as then I’m in competition with myself to lose what I can, knowing that I’m only doing it for 6/8/10 weeks.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep · 15/05/2021 15:53

No, but you could lose 1.5.

Pugdoglife · 15/05/2021 15:56

Seems a bit optimistic if I'm honest, it would be very difficult to do healthily and keep it off, I would look at a longer term plan and I think you would probably feel amazing about yourself in 10 weeks whatever you have lost.

Babymamamama · 15/05/2021 15:57

That’s not realistic tbh. I’m doing OMAD currently and I’ve dropped quite a few pounds already. It’s basically one meal a day. I like feeling I’m more in control as otherwise I’m a terrible snacker. I’m trying to fight menopausal spread and regain my figure. That’s my dream anyway. I actually feel this may need to be my new lifestyle long term. I’m taking supplements alongside so hopefully I won’t miss out too much nutritionally,

GetTheStartyParted · 15/05/2021 16:24

@JellyBabiesFan I lost 30lbs in 10 weeks. I'm not saying that OP will. I had a lot to lose and the water weight was obviously significant.

There are a lot of ways to drop weight fast, they are not all healthy and not all sustainable. I used keto to kickstart my weightloss as I felt stuck. I'm now calorie counting and losing much more slowly. I don't think I could go back to keto but it did what I needed it to.

OP - Any good steps towards a healthy weight should make you feel more confident and that is what will make you look good for the event.

LyndaLaHughes · 15/05/2021 21:11

Definitely the Fast 800. I lost over two stone in 12 weeks as that's all I had to lose but others have lost more. Best of all- I've kept it off. It's a fabulous diet and the way of eating is a total game changer.

heyyyall · 16/05/2021 09:46

Thanks everyone, I think I'm just going to loose as much as I can before the event but if its not 3 stone then anything I loose is better than nothing. I'm looking at fast 800 and that looks doable.

@GetTheStartyParted

I lost 30lbs in 10 weeks. I'm not saying that OP will. I had a lot to lose and the water weight was obviously significant

The weight of water held within x kilograms of body fat in a 30 stone person, for argument sake, is exactly the same as the weight of water held within x kilograms of body fat in a 10 stone person.

Unless you are dehydrating yourself the ratio of water to fat cells lost as you lose weight will remain a constant. Hence the body will always remain between 50-60% water.

Yes okay if somebody has an absolutely apalling diet and is grossly overweight they might be able to lose weight that fast, but it would be extremely rare.
