Ok, I need to focus and make some healthier choices as I seem to have lost the plot lately.

My first swap is Diet Coke to Sparkling water.

I always have a bottle of still water while I work, but I've gotten in to a really bad habit of drinking a lot of Diet Coke with meals etc! So, when I'm in need of some fizz, I'm going to reach for the sparkling water!

Not sure how healthy it is but popcorn instead instead of crisps or biscuits.

Also, definitely not healthy but I now have a side of 6 nuggets at McDonalds instead of chips as they’re lower calorie.

Can I jump in and ask what to have for breakfast ? I have always had cereal with milk and don’t want to change that or I will fail, so what would be a lower calorie cereal ?

walnutwhippys · 09/05/2021 14:26

@DinosaurDiana my go to cereal is porridge or fruit and fibre.
I avoid adding any sugar and use honey or fruit for sweetness.
I use semi-skimmed milk or almond milk.

I'm diabetic so do a lot of carb swaps which in turn helps with health and weight loss.

Blitzed cauli instead of rice
Roasted celeriac chunks instead of roast potatoes
Spiralised courgette in place of pasta
Bacon in place of lasagne sheets (trust me it's amazing)
Ice cold crunchy salad with things like chilli or curry - I love the texture difference
Chopped nuts on yoghurt and berries instead of granola
Sugar free lime cordial and soda water

I'm sure I will think of more soon!
