If I’ve lost weight why do I feel so big?

Hi everyone,

I’m 5’11 and all my life been in the high 12s/13 stone. Im now 11 stone 10 and couldn't feel bigger. My bmi is about 23, my clothes feel looser and I know i’m not skinny by any imagination but I actually think my body looks worse now that I am a lower weight.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I lost many stones and yes. Sometimes I feel like that.

Toning is helping. It makes your body posture better and it makes your body feel less flab. I was telling my DH that I feel much wobblier than before when I lost first few stones.

My problem is I don't have the bone structure to give me the sort of body I'd ideally like. I just focus on keeping my weight down for my health rather than appearance now.

How long ago did you lose the weight? Maybe your brain needs time to get used to their being less of you

Yes! But I’ve done it mainly through exercise and slowly so I’m much more toned than before. I’m 2 stone and 2 sizes smaller and so much fitter ... yet somehow few heavier and bigger than before.

I’m thinking it must be the awareness / focus maybe.
