Nutracheck or MyFitnessPal?

Thinking of starting to calorie count to try and lose some weight.

I want an app where you scan the barcode to get the calories but would also like one where you put in your daily amount, e.g. 1400 and every time you scan/eat something it records it and takes it off your daily total.

Do either of these apps fit the bill?

You can set the calories target in My fitness Pal and it tells you how many you have left as you log what you have already had.

MFP has helped me lose 3 stone so I always recommend it, I’m not familiar with the other one.

Nutracheck is brilliant, it's the only app I pay for. You can scan bar codes, it maps to my iPhone, it's brilliant

I use MFP, no issues with it. I've never understood what more nutracheck offers that MFP doesn't.

Nutria heck is better for U.K. users, I much prefer if it MFP

I was using my fitness pal.

Friend used nutracheck and I liked the visuals and so tried it for a week (you get a free trial!) I used it alongside MFP.

After 3 days I ditched MFP because nutracheck was just so much easier to use.

But after the trial it's £24/ yr or £3.99 / mth.

MFP premium is more expensive than that if you want to access more nutritional information.

Nutracheck is brilliant. I have raved about it to so many people. I love that I can balance my macros in it so that if I have 100 calories still to eat I can see if I need something protein-y or carb-y. I lost all my Christmas weight and now just maintaining but still using it because I like tracking stuff like fibre and sugar to make sure I am still eating well.
