How to lose 2 stone

Hi,

Anyone got the best tips on losing 2 stone in 3 months? I've weighed myself and I'm a stone heavier than I was this time last year, and therefore 2 stone heavier than my goal weight. Don't even want to look in the mirror I'm that annoyed with myself, but just bit the bullet and weighed myself last night. Went to bed quite upset with myself.

I had been hovering around the +7/8lbs mark for ages, and then these past couple of months or so I've just piled the rest on. This lockdown hit me much harder than the others and I think I just comfort ate my way through it.

So has anyone any tips on losing 2 stone? I have a big family vacation planned end of July, is it crazy to think I could lose it by then?? Has anyone successfully lost this amount in that time frame? Or am I setting myself up for a fall already?

If I was to eat well, and exercise 3 or 4 times a week, what would be a reasonable amount of pounds to lose a week?

Totally doable.
Work out your tdee then reduce the calorie amount by 20% to find a daily calorie target to eat to lose weight.

Log everything you eat and drink on My Fitness Pal to keep track, and I mean everything. Every splash of milk in tea, every nibble of cheese. You have to weigh and log accurately but do not add your exercise to MFP. It overestimates calories burned and gives you extra calories to eat which completely stalls your weight loss. Good luck!

Thank you for this! I'm just googling TDEE now, very interesting.

Will download my fitness pal. Have heard others say it's great for holding yourself accountable.

Thanks for the positivity! Just need to keep myself motivated. Would love to get to a weight where I can then focus on maintaining rather than always feeling I need to lose weight. But I've felt unhealthy for a while now, so will be good to get myself in better shape, mentally and physically!

Seconding @Youdontknowwhatyouronabout ‘a advice.

I’ve lost 2 stone since the start of January. I’ve logged everything I’ve eaten and weighed all my food. I stick to 1200 calories a day and walk as much as I can. I had back surgery in December and can’t currently do any exercise apart from walking so walking it is.

I try to eat lots of vegetables and wholegrains. I’m vegetarian and I think that helps keep the calories low as long as I don’t eat lots of cheese! But I do allow small treats every now and then and make sure it’s within my calorie allowance.

I really like this way of doing it as it doesn’t feel like a diet and I don’t feel deprived. I just feel like I’ve readjusted my eating, have changed my portion sizes and have made a healthy and sustainable lifestyle change instead of a crash diet.

Good luck op. It’s definitely doable!

Isn't there another exact thread on this topic?

I am in a similar position. But have a target date of End of June - so 10 weeks. I will be watching this thread for ideas. I already know that sugar is my enemy and my danger time is late evening - when I am like a demon searching for sugar. Good luck to you emilyjane.
