Why am I gaining weight?

Mumsnetters please can anyone help me understand why I’m putting on weight? I stopped drinking alcohol in January (initially to do dry January but noticed an improvement in my MH so carried on) in the hope of loosing a little belly fat. I enjoy running but took a break due to an injury at the beginning of the year so started running last month. I’m back up to running between 5-10km 2-3 times a week depending on my shift pattern at work and childcare. The last week I’ve really cranked up the healthy eating logging EVERYTHING with my fitness pal and averaging 1100 calories per day. Instead of loosing weight I’m bloody gaining it. I’m a vegan and type 1 diabetic so doing no carbs is unrealistic but I have slow release carbs to try to maintain my blood glucose levels. I just feel so utterly disheartened. I only want to loose 1.5kg and tone up my stomach. In terms of body measurements I’ve not lost anything.
Can anyone help me understand why this is is not working. I’d normally say ‘well your underestimating your calories’ but this is genuinely not the case. Have a lovely weekend and tia x

Is it possible you are swallen? My dad was t1 and he could swell up incredibly. How much are you gaining? It can be water it can be that you are changing fat for a muscle and there is a different density. Many things.

I think in terms of 1.5kg loss. It's tiny so it will be quite hard. Maybe rather than weight, concentrate on the toning up and the weight might follow.
