Hi all. Welcome to April's lose 7lb/ 3kg per month thread. @cricketmum84 is taking a break so I will host this month. Welcome to all regulars/ lurkers/ new posters. We're all at different stages, losing weight in different ways and losing different amounts every month.

I'll post my stats in a bit.

Checking in again (hi @NerrSnerr!)
As predicted I gained 2lb at the weekend and have lost them again. I’ve been really good the last 2 days so hopefully I can shift another 1lb by the end of the month.
Hope everyone’s doing ok.

GetTheStartyParted · 27/04/2021 21:54

Hi, the thread seems to have been quiet recently. Hope you're all OK.

@Howmanysleepsnow you have done great!

I have not lost anything since I started calorie counting (end of March) but I keep having 'treats', which are of course hampering any progress.

My fitness has greatly improved though, I'm running up to 5k three or four times a week and swimming at least once a week too. My body feels better for it, even if it weighs the same Grin

If this is how I can maintain then I'd be very happy - but I want to lose another 2 stone yet!

GetTheStartyParted · 27/04/2021 21:56

Oh and hi @NerrSnerr - looks like I will be staying the same too. Better than gaining I guess!

Going to cut out takeaways and junk for a month, I just can't limit myself with it yet, unfortunately. I'm an all or nothing kinda girl.

Howmanysleepsnow · 28/04/2021 11:00

@GetTheStartyParted at least you’ve been maintaining with treats so you have a plan for the end! As soon as I start to have treats I seem to gain. But I guess I have a few months to figure that out yet.

GetTheStartyParted · 28/04/2021 16:05

Yes, @Howmanysleepsnow I will happily eat that way to maintain, assuming it's the same when I'm 2 stone lighter Smile I'm so worried about regaining weight, which is why I'm so focused on creating good exercise habits. I just need to create good habits around food too.

It is a never ending battle isn't it.

merrygoround88 · 28/04/2021 20:34

Hi I am hoping to lose a kilo over the next 4 weeks.
I am logging everything on MFP and doing 2 weights classes per week combined with minimum of 15k steps per day

Howmanysleepsnow · 29/04/2021 18:04

Welcome @merrygoround88.

Howmanysleepsnow · 30/04/2021 08:24

And again! Still 9st12lb

SW December 2019 12st10lb
SW April 10st 4lb
CW 9st 12lb
Loss for April 6lb
GW 9st 6lb
Goal for May 9st 6lb (lose 6lb)

GetTheStartyParted · 30/04/2021 21:47

6lb is great, well done Star

I haven't weighed myself this week yet, I've had a really busy week, getting up at 4am every day for work Hmm I will weigh myself in the morning but so far, I hadn't lost anything in April.

GetTheStartyParted · 01/05/2021 07:44

Woohoo, I have lost 2lb this week and this month

I started April at 11st0.8lbs, and ended at 10st12.08 Smile Finally in the 10s!

And my NSV is starting April as a non-runner and finishing as someone able to run 5k Halo

It may not look great on the scales but I'm happy with this months progress.

I hope you have all had a positive month too.

NerrSnerr · 01/05/2021 09:15

Wow well done @GetTheStartyParted that must feel amazing. I have had a 3lb gain this month! Need to really knuckle down in May as April has been rubbish for me!

OP posts:
GetTheStartyParted · 01/05/2021 10:22

Thanks @NerrSnerr it really does feel good. I still haven't braved running outside, it's all been on my treadmill. I really need to work on my confidence.

I've just looked on my weight tracker app and I have now lost 4 and a half stone in total, decreased my BMI by 12 and only have 1st2 before I'm in the healthy weight range.

I just need to knuckle down and lose weight now! I reached 11st six months ago, fell off the wagon and had been gaining since October. I restarted in January. Calorie counting is proving challenging as expected but this week has shown that it works if I stick to it Grin

3lbs is nothing, you've got this! May is going to be a better month for us both.

NerrSnerr · 01/05/2021 10:37

Thank you @GetTheStartyParted. I know I can get very close to the 10s by the end of the month if I knuckle down. I'm calorie counting too- I need to plan a mad afternoon snack as that's when I go bonkers and one packet of crisps turns into me eating everything I can find! I think I will go for a swim tonight and possibly a run in the morning. I'll never get out of these size 14 jeans I hate unless I knuckle down!

OP posts:
merrygoround88 · 01/05/2021 17:30

@NerrSnerr have you tried the Fibre one bars, I find the brownie one gives me the mid afternoon lift I need and is 90 calories

GetTheStartyParted · 01/05/2021 18:38

I like the birthday cake fibre one bars, I haven't tried the brownie ones.

I try to plan a large enough lunch that I don't need a snack. I do eat dinner early though, especially on work days. In the event I need something, I generally have fruit.

I plan my day in advance and try not to stray from it. I find meal planning boring but essential for me.

GetTheStartyParted · 02/05/2021 08:07

Morning everyone. How are you all?

I maintained my loss today. Going swimming later. My legs ache a little from running but will see how I get on.

@cricketmum84 how are you? Would you like to host the May thread or shall I host this months? Smile

cricketmum84 · 02/05/2021 09:23

Morning @GetTheStartyParted!

Doing a little better here but also starting my new job on Tuesday so if you wouldn't mind hosting for May I would be super grateful.

Only 4lbs off for me in April. Would have liked more but I think my medication is affecting losses a bit. Will try harder this month 😂

I've also signed up to the Captain Tom 100 challenge to raise funds for our local cat rescue where my two girlies came from. They have really struggled during the pandemic. I've committed to walking 100 laps of my street before the 31st May. Did my first 4 laps yesterday with my walking frame and JC it hurt! I'm really hoping it starts to strengthen my leg muscles though as I've been so immobile the past 4 months that my muscles are wasting. It's gonna be hard but I'm determined to do it!

NerrSnerr · 02/05/2021 09:28

Thank you @merrygoround88 and @GetTheStartyParted I had forgotten about them. I think what I really need is to have 4 smaller meals as that used to work better than me.

4lb is a really good loss @cricketmum84, especially after the year you've had. I hope the challenge goes well and strengthens you up. Good luck in your new job.

I hope this link works!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/4233945-May-lose-7lb-3kg-per-month-thread

@cricketmum84 4lb is great, you've really lost quite a bit over the last few months haven't you. Good luck with your challenge.

@NerrSnerr you've got to do what you know works for you. I think preventing yourself from getting too hungry is the aim either way, as that's when I always slip up.
