Hi all. Welcome to April's lose 7lb/ 3kg per month thread. @cricketmum84 is taking a break so I will host this month. Welcome to all regulars/ lurkers/ new posters. We're all at different stages, losing weight in different ways and losing different amounts every month.

I'll post my stats in a bit.

Hi all. I have been eating too much over Easter but trying to get back on track now. Been doing plenty of exercise though so I hope that helps on the scales!

Hi all, weigh in today and I'm up 2lbs. Not really surprised as I've eaten many many hot cross buns over the last week. Back on it today.
SW 15 Sr 12.4 lbs
April 1 wt 11st 1.4 lbs
CW. 11st 3.4lbs

Aiming to get into the 10s by the end of the month.

Foresttheout · 09/04/2021 06:13

@Sunsetsandroses @MegBusset I think I will have to try that, giving myself a set lunch and snack and finding the will power not to eat the house and ignore it.
I do 16:8 (or try to) so morning snacking isn't so bad but mid afternoon is my downfall. It is purely mental not actually hunger as if I can resist until finishing time and the weather is nice I am easily distracted by a walk and then can happily wait until dinner.

MegBusset · 09/04/2021 09:34

SW: 10st 4lb
CW: 9st 12lb
GW: 9st 4lb

After a wobbly few days I have decided to adjust my goals on MFP from 1lb loss a week (which only gives me 1200 cals) to 0.5lb a week (giving a much more manageable 1500 cals). I'm hoping this will help me stay on track, although I already have a pub meal out next week so will need to write that day off most likely!

Sunsetsandroses · 10/04/2021 09:44

@Foresttheout could you distract yourself with drinks too? I have a 1.5L juice bottle I got from amazon and full it every morning. When I'm feeling the need to snack I have a long drink and it quite often helps. Also low calories cup a soups are helpful I find.

cricketmum84 · 10/04/2021 10:30

Weigh in day today and just the 1lb off this week. Not feeling too disheartened though as that's 5lbs for the month so far so I'm well on track!

Could really do with the weather warming up though so I enjoy my salads more instead of craving stodge!

NerrSnerr · 11/04/2021 15:53

Hi all. Have had a rubbish week on the diet front but am back on it today. Had a cold which has made my asthma bad so haven't been running. Have eaten well today and did a 4 mile walk this morning and have just got back from a walk with the children. Just need to plan my tea for tonight, might make some kind of a curry. Will weigh in tomorrow and hope for the best.

Hi, checking in after a disastrous March. I’ve been comfort eating so my stats are terrible!
CW 10st 4lb
GW 9st 5lb
March gain 9.5lb
Goal for April 9st 11lb
Plan: 16:8, low carb, low cal (fast 800)

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 12/04/2021 13:45

I've joined low carb boot camp in the hopes of it helping to kick start my weight loss, my god though 3 lts of water a day, my back teeth are floating and I've been up and down to the loo non stop.

I'm going to really really really miss my skinny Emmi iced lattes, but I can cope for 2 weeks if it works.

Only need to lose 11 lbs to be in the healthy BMI, already lost 58 so why are these 11 hanging on and proving so hard to shift. Fatty little bastards!

NerrSnerr · 12/04/2021 14:59

Welcome back @Howmanysleepsnow. I hope April is better for you. Good luck @HalfShrunkMoreToGo, you can do it.

I am back on it today, not running yet as my chest isn't 100% but had a blast on the exercise bike earlier. Have been eating much better too and feel good for it. Still not down to the weight i was at the start of the month but hoping I will get there soon.

NerrSnerr · 12/04/2021 15:00

5lbs is amazing for the month so far @cricketmum84. Hope you're feeling better in yourself too.

OP posts:
Ecci · 12/04/2021 19:29

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo I'm in the same position as you, lost 66 lbs, about 9 to go, but they are very reluctant to disappear. Bastards! I'm only losing 1 or 2 lbs a month now. Keep going, we'll get there.

ILoveAnOwl · 12/04/2021 22:05

Somehow another kg off this week so;

SW: 117Kg
CW:101Kg
GW: 67Kg

Also got into size 18 jeans for the first time post children today so I'm feeling pleased with that. My eldest is 6!

Foresttheout · 13/04/2021 06:20

Weighed this morning and 0.6kg lost so down to 71.7kg. Seeing the number 71 finally has been a great motivation.
@Sunsetsandroses I drink a lot of water but i might see if i can find some low calorie squash I can use to meet sweet cravings.
@HalfShrunkMoreToGo you should find your bladder gets used to it. I upped my water intake to minimum 2 ideally 3 liters a day about 12 months ago because its often hot here and i get awful headaches otherwise. The first few weeks i felt like i needed to wee every 30 minutes but it settled

MegBusset · 13/04/2021 07:15

Morning all!

Heading in the right direction here. Upping my calories has definitely helped:

SW: 10st 4lb
CW: 9st 10lb
GW: 9st 4lb

I have four meals out in the next two weeks though so trying to pick menu options that won't do too much damage!

NerrSnerr · 13/04/2021 10:12

Morning all. My weight is still up from the start of the month but I'm doing much better this week. I have been cooking healthy recipes and will go swimming tonight as my daughter has a sports class. I gave the summer clothes I wore last year to the charity shop this morning so I need to stick with this as I have plenty of summer clothes in the size down to wear (I'm not too far off them).

OP posts:
Foresttheout · 13/04/2021 10:43

@NerrSnerr I find getting into clothes a great motivation, more so though than the scales usually.
I just weighed my dog who is also on a diet she is doing very well and has lost 3kgs in 2 weeks. Perhaps the answer is to get someone to serve me carefully weighed out portion of chicken and veg for lunch and counted out kibbles for breakfast and dinner.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 14/04/2021 07:03

Total loss since starting - 60 lb

GetTheStartyParted · 14/04/2021 11:42

Well done @HalfShrunkMoreToGo You've done great.

I am stuck at 11stone Hmm but I'm still blaming Easter for that!

I have increased my fitness though, since starting running (got my treadmill just over a month ago), I have managed to increase my run from 2km to 4.5km, which I'm really pleased with.

I have been much better this week so I'm hoping to see the elusive 10s.

spikyplants2021 · 14/04/2021 21:12

Hello, I've been on and lurked in the past, NC since but have got a new goal (ok rephrased my goal but essentially the same haha). This forum is a tried and tested method for me, look forward to refreshing myself on healthy eating, and figuring out how to stick at it! Lovely to meet you all.

I'm going to lurk for the next few weeks as I need to:-

Sort out my freezer drawers!
Meal plan and batch cook
Attempt to enter my diet into Cronometer (this one I always hate as it's so tedious but for me it really does work, might need some motivation and support to do it!)
Plan out an exercise routine
Work out a timeline (I love an end goal)

Sunsetsandroses · 15/04/2021 07:21

11lb 9 today
So that's 3lb up from last week, but still overall 2lb down for the month.
Slightly annoyed at myself because I felt like I had done alright but oh well. I've been fluctuating around 11 stone 9 for a couple months now, occasionally more and occasionally less. I'll keep trying though

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 21/04/2021 07:03

Wednesday weigh in.

Start of this weight loss journey was 1st Aug 2020 - 233lb, BMI 35.4

21/04/2021 - 169lb, BMI 25.6

Loss this week - 4 lb
Loss this month - 6 lb
Total loss since starting - 64 lb

Howmanysleepsnow · 22/04/2021 07:24

I weighed in at 9st13.5 this morning so after a disastrous couple of months I’m back under 10st, so 4.5lb loss in the last 10 days (4lb gain in the 14 before Sad). I’m determined not to gain it back this time.

Howmanysleepsnow · 23/04/2021 08:17

9st 12lb today! Loss for April so far 6lb, 6lb to GW.
Restaurant meal-at-home tonight so may put some back on but I’m optimistic I can be back at my CW by Monday and maybe even shift another 1lb by the end of the month. I feel like I’m back on track for the first time since November!

NerrSnerr · 26/04/2021 17:56

Hope you're all doing ok. Apologies for the silence- had a hectic couple of weeks and have eaten too much. A stay the same is the best I will hope for in April.

Brilliant loss @Howmanysleepsnow.
