Hi all. Welcome to April's lose 7lb/ 3kg per month thread. @cricketmum84 is taking a break so I will host this month. Welcome to all regulars/ lurkers/ new posters. We're all at different stages, losing weight in different ways and losing different amounts every month.

I'll post my stats in a bit.

OP posts:
Smarshian · 01/04/2021 17:15

Thanks for the new thread @NerrSnerr!
Stats for me so far:
SW: 11st 2lb
March SW: 10st 9lb
CW: 10st 3lb
Lost so far 13lb
Hoping for 5lb in April to take me into the 9s

cricketmum84 · 01/04/2021 17:40

Thanks @NerrSnerr for taking the reins! Hopefully I will be well enough to pick it up next month.

You guys have been absolutely amazing these last few months. I really appreciate all the support!

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 25.2
April 1st: 24.12
Loss so far 10.4

Would love to get to 14.0 by the end of April.

For any newbies I'm newly diagnosed as diabetic so eating mega low carb and also unable to walk so exercise is minimal. Here's to another month of Greek yoghurt and salads and many many tablets! (Although not at the same time)

cricketmum84 · 01/04/2021 17:42

Grr fat fingers.... let me repost stats Cos I'm in idiot!!!!!!

SW: 25st 2lbs
April 1st: 14st 12lbs
Total loss: 10st 4lbs

Think I'm going to adjust my goal weight. It was 13st but I'm going to drop it to 11st.

MegBusset · 01/04/2021 18:22

Hi all!

@cricketmum84 that is an amazing achievement, well done!

SW: 10st 4lb
CW: 9st 11lb
GW: 9st 4lb

Managed half a stone in March despite a few off days. I have been walking A LOT (average 7 miles a day) so think that has helped.

Would be lovely to see another 7lb off in April but as I've not got much to lose it will probably be slower. Will be happy with 4lb off... We'll see!

NerrSnerr · 01/04/2021 19:21

I'm back with my stats. Really pleased with an 8lb loss in March so hoping to keep the momentum.

SW 12st 6
CW 11st 7
April Goal 11st
GW 9st

I'm going to aim for 7lbs but if I can get an extra pound to get me into the 10s I will be very happy.

Hi all,
I posted a couple of messages in the march group, but had a bad month due to a couple of birthdays, work stress and just generally not feeling on it.
You have all done really well, congrats!

Stats so far as follows:

SW 12st 12lb (1.1.21)
CW 11st 11lb
April GW 11st 5lb I think. I'd prefer more like 11st 3lb, but I don't think I would be able to manage that in a month.

I've signed up for some exercise classes starting soon, and I'm going to try intuitive eating. If it doesn't go well I'll go back to calorie counting, but I'm finding it a bit of a pain tbh.

Ecci · 01/04/2021 22:44

@CricketMum84 Great to see you back, hope you're getting better.

Some great losses being reported.
Here's my stats

SW 15 St 12.4 lbs
CW 11 St 1.4 lbs
Total loss 4 St 11lbs.
Hoping to get into the 10s by the end of April.

ANP2020 · 01/04/2021 23:23

Can I join please?? Been calorie counting using MFP and have a PT supporting with excercise! Been overweight for as long as I can remember but now is the time to get rid once and for all!
April is my birthday month so may be a bit tougher but hopefully not!!
SW- 18stone 4lbs
CW- 17stone 7lbs
GW - not decided

GetTheStartyParted · 02/04/2021 08:21

Hi everyone.

Nice to see you back @cricketmum84 and thanks for hosting @NerrSnerr

SW: 15st5
CW: 11st0

March loss - 4lb

It's around 10 days since I changed to calorie counting. I haven't lost but haven't gained. My slimmer DH has lost a further 4lb Sad I'm not sure if mine is hormonal or if I need to decrease my calories.

I'm going to enjoy Easter and then try to ensure most of my calories are from good, healthy foods, not processed stuff. I'm reluctant to go under 1400 cals per day.

Onesmallstep67 · 02/04/2021 08:33

Hi, checking in. Well done everyone with your losses. Lovely to see you back @cricketmum84. Hope you are beginning to feel better.
I have been somewhat half heartedly watching what I eat and some days are easier than others. A mixed up relationship with food isn't easy to break free of. Overall I am 6lbs down from my highest lockdown weight but still 20 lbs up from my 2019 low. Essentially lost 4 stone, regained 2 stone and struggling to get back down. Hopefully the summer and lockdown easing will help shift my mindset and the lbs.
Target loss for April is 4lbs. It's not coming off as quickly as it did first time around. I have to really fully watch the calories to lose anything at all. Menopause has definitely made a difference.
Hope you all have a lovely long weekend.

NerrSnerr · 02/04/2021 13:27

Hope you're all having a lovely Good Friday. I went out for a run this morning and it was my fastest pace so far. I need to stop comparing myself to young adult me who was a ran a lot and could run a 22 minute 5k. I just want to get to 30 minutes now! I will have my weekly takeaway tonight and get back on it tomorrow.

We've done the village Easter egg hunt this morning which was lovely and I bumped into so many people I haven't seen in a long while. I have an outdoor yoga class tomorrow- I hope it's not too chilly!

Did everyone have a good Easter?

I had a lovely weekend, back to it today though Easter Smile

I've done my run and had some fruit for breakfast.

I have a mountain chocolate to get through. I really can't eat as much as I used to and my DH, DD and DDad all treated me this year. I plan on rationing it and enjoying it.

MegBusset · 05/04/2021 12:45

I have had a lovely break, basically had a week off calorie counting and it shows on the scales! Back on it from today, back at work tomorrow so will be easier to stick to a routine and not fall into a bottle of wine every evening.

MegBusset · 05/04/2021 12:46

SW: 10st 4lb
CW: 9st 12.6lb (oops)
GW: 9st 4lb

cricketmum84 · 05/04/2021 13:16

4lbs off for me this week taking me down to 14.8. I am so determined to be 14 or under by the end of the month!

Not even the tiniest bit of chocolate or a hot cross bun passed my lips yesterday! Diabetes makes dieting easier I think 😂 i darent touch the sugar now!

I had low carb toast with marmite, then a small ham salad early afternoon followed by DHs amazing slow cooked beef brisket for dinner with celeriac roasties and broccoli. Delish!

GetTheStartyParted · 05/04/2021 15:42

Glad you enjoyed your week off @MegBusset
It has to be done now and again Grin

That's great @cricketmum84 your sugar avoidance and low carb will be great for weightloss as well as your diabetes. I love beef brisket and celariac roasties, perfect dinner!

Sunsetsandroses · 05/04/2021 16:38

I've been pretty good over Easter, eaten some chocolate but not tons, just a bit that I fancied but didn't splurge. I've got quite a bit to get through, but I'll keep eating as I fancy, not depriving myself but not overdoing it either.

I feel good so far, will see what the scales say on the 7th I guess.

ILoveAnOwl · 06/04/2021 09:28

I weighed in a day late this week as I was scared of the scales due to living pretty much entirely off Hot Cross Buns last week. Also had my first prosecco (well, alcohol at all) since Christmas and it was glorious.

Anyway, I've stayed exactly the same which is a huge relief so;

SW 117.7kg
CW 102.2kg
GW 67kg.

April goal is to get under 100kg. 99.9kg will do me!

Sunsetsandroses · 06/04/2021 18:01

@ILoveAnOwl staying the same over Easter with all the chocolate and hot cross buns around is a win as far as I'm concerned!
I'm weighing in tomorrow morning, hopefully stay the same or lose.

ILoveAnOwl · 06/04/2021 18:04

@sunsetandroses I was thrilled. Also thrilled that I've stuck to it today (with the exception of one creme egg 😂) as historically it's something like this that leads me down a path to self destruction and hating myself for 'failing' so giving up and binging instead. Just need to kerp it up!

Lostmyunicorn · 06/04/2021 18:17

Please may I join? I’ve been half heartedly doing the Fast 800 for a couple of months but not doing it properly and I need some accountability. I can’t give my stats as my scales have broken - I need to try a new battery tomorrow before I give in and get new ones (I’m sure my parents had the same set of scales for about 20 years but now they only seem to last a year) But I’m starting strictly tomorrow.

Foresttheout · 07/04/2021 06:55

Hey everyone! As usual I am late checking in. Starting April at 72.3kg giving me a grand total of 0.2kg lost in march. It has been a pretty horrible week and as usual I have been comfort eating.
Any tips on not doing that would be great, I often avoid it in the early evening by going for a long walk but while working from home its far to easy to eat my feelings 9-5

Sunsetsandroses · 07/04/2021 07:08

Well I am in shock.

Just weighed myself, 11 stone 6lb. That's 5lb since the 1st.
Being honest, I was 11 stone 9lb at one point in March, so 3lb off my lowest weight but still.
Very pleased with myself!!

Welcome @Lostmyunicorn, do you have a rough idea of how much loss you are aiming for, or waiting to see what the scales say first?

Sunsetsandroses · 07/04/2021 07:11

@Foresttheout the scales are going in the right direction though. Even a small loss is still a loss.

I'm not much help regarding the snacking when working from home, I struggle really badly with it. The only thing that sort of helped for me was making a packed lunch and snack pack as though I was going to work and eating that rather than going through the cupboards.
Definitely find it easier when I'm in work though!

MegBusset · 07/04/2021 15:39

Yep, I find the only way I can control eating when WFH is have a set lunch and snack time, planning ahead and putting my calories into MFP at the start of the day.

I usually have an apple with my mid-morning coffee, then lunch is a soup or something, then I have a Soreen mini loaf mid-afternoon. I also moved my PC from the kitchen table to upstairs in the spare room so it's less easy to raid the cupboards!
