I have been reading the threads and advice about Saxenda and Ozempic injections. I have been thinking about it for a while but am put off by having to inject (and explaining to OH why i'm injecting) and noticed that Semaglutide now comes in tablet form. . Its seems to come in 7mg or 14 mg but some sites offer a starting dose of 3mg to get your body used to it. Was wondering if anyone had taken them and what there experience is?

They aren't available legally in uk for weight loss, but type 2 diabetes.

BJHair · 28/03/2021 20:10

Yes I have
I’ve lost 11lbs in just over 4 weeks

cheesenpickle · 28/03/2021 22:28

@ODFOx . They are available at on line pharmacies for weight loss.

@BJhair. Wow thats impressive. Have you had any side effects? What dose did you start on? How long has your wait loss taken. Sorry for all the questions, its only been available for a short time so there aren't really any reviews from people who have actually tried it.

Sorry I’m on the pen injection one as I’m diabetic
No side affects apart from tiredness but I suffer with chronic pain so I’m always tired 😂 I started on it on 22nd Feb and I’m 11lbs down at the moment .
I’m on the lowest dose once a week
It worked pretty much straight away although I have noticed that this week my weight loss seems to have speeded up for some reason

My dad also lost 3 stone last year and has kept it off
Saxenda I took that about two years ago and I didn’t like it made me feel really sick and lightheaded

Next week though I’m going to miss a week as the weight loss is quiet scary 😂 so I’m going to see how it goes without taking it for a week

Gosh that's a quick weightloss. I've got 2-2.5 stone to loss (all put on in lockdown!) I've been looking into both and the weekly injection sounds better than the daily except i dont want to have to explain to other half what i'm doing and a tablet is far easier to conceal. Its not cheap though so i dont want to waste money if it doesnt work or the side effects are awful. Its good to hear its worked for you.

There are a few fb groups for Rybelsus, they can give you lots of info and advice :-) good luck with whichever you decide

CovidCorvid · 02/04/2021 21:43

Is it not quite a bit more expensive than saxenda?

Wagsandclaws · 02/04/2021 22:04

My DH was offered either Ozempic or rybelsus ( they are essentially the same ) except with Ozempic you only inject once a week and with Saxenda you inject every day I think the same as you take a rybelsus every day.

Saxenda is cheaper per pen than rybelsus or Ozempic but I've heard less side effects come with Ozempic and it's a much newer drug although both are very similar.

I take Ozempic for T2 diabetes but my Dh takes it for weight loss through a private clinic. It is more expensive than Saxenda but I've been told by my endocrinologist is a better drug.

cheesenpickle · 02/04/2021 22:09

@Wagsandclaws. Thanks i hadnt thought about that i will have a look.

@covidcorvid. It is, but i rather my oh doesn't know. He will only worry about me taking something i have to inject and a tablet is easier to hide.

Is it against the rules to ask where you bought your Rybelsus (the pill form of Semaglutide) from?

So many of these online only pharmacies are names I don't recognise/could be dodgy that a review of one you've used to buy successfully would be useful
