What's your opinion?

OP posts:

I hear what you’re saying, I still don’t think it makes a difference.
In any other thread, asking whether others would trust a fat doctor, or a a fat nurse would be asking for replies of horror, that someone could think that being overweight would impair their ability to do a professional job. It’s about knowledge, not size.

Giantrooster · 20/03/2021 16:46

You can give perfectly good advice without (being able to) following it yourself. And perhaps even relate more.

You wouldn't be able to trust many doctors, if they should follow all advice they give. Lots of medical staff drink, smoke, use drugs or eat unhealthy.

@SchrodingersImmigrant

I assume that since the question was popped in weight loss section, OP would be asking/or asked about weight loss, rather than health issues? I might be obviously wrong though!
I didn’t notice that! I suppose that does make sense Grin
DianaT1969 · 20/03/2021 17:18

I don't think the OP is coming back.

Giantrooster · 20/03/2021 17:43

Nah, don't believe you @DianaT1969 🤣, op wouldn't be that rude, after all she was polite starting the thread just shy of 'discuss'.

LovelyLovelyWarmCoffee · 20/03/2021 17:54

If I was seing him/her for weight loss or help with a balanced diet - no. Other reasons, yes even though in all honesty I would have a negative biais.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 20/03/2021 17:55

We are probs really boring with actual discussion and not throwing poop angrily at each other😂

Giantrooster · 20/03/2021 18:16

Could we throw cake instead? Grin

SchrodingersImmigrant · 20/03/2021 18:33

😂
I am more of a crisps girl😂

Mintlegs · 20/03/2021 18:36

No

Sexnotgender · 20/03/2021 18:37

No

BigButtons · 20/03/2021 18:40

No- it would be like that little Britain sketch or having a fitness instructor who stood smoking fags whilst you did sit ups.

cansu · 20/03/2021 18:42

No I wouldn't. I once had a gp tell me about being obese. She was much heavier than me. I think that if you are giving advice to people about being a healthy weight, you should be a healthy weight. I wouldn't expect a hairdresser to have a terrible haircut or a beautician to be poorly groomed etc. If it is part of your role then it affects how people perceive you and respect you.

That's not fair, you are upping the war. Crisps are sharp weapons compared to a soggy sponge Grin.

user1493494961 · 20/03/2021 18:58

No.

Ok... Cheese then!

MNWorldisCrazy · 20/03/2021 19:39

@HavelockVetinari

No way, in the same way that I wouldn't take fitness advice from someone out of shape or unfit himself/herself.
So if a dietitian had a serious health issue which required a high dose of steroids, causing them to be overweight, you wouldn't trust them to do their job Hmm
Gensola · 20/03/2021 19:47

No I wouldn’t, if it was for weight loss. If it was for what food to eat after a specific surgery or something then I would. I had major bowel surgery a few years ago and had a dietician to help me eat the right foods to make sure my digestive system wasn’t overwhelmed to build up to normality. She was overweight but she wasn’t trying to put me on a diet!

Giantrooster · 20/03/2021 20:27

Ok... Cheese then!

Cheese it is! En garde ⚔️ 🧀

SchrodingersImmigrant · 20/03/2021 20:32

My army seem to have run out into some issues with an ammunition...
There is none... We are asking to potpone the duel until some more matures

Would you trust a fat dietitian?
Giantrooster · 20/03/2021 20:43

😂😂😂

Okay you win, I hate smelly cheese 😂.

Still no word from op though, guess we tried our best.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 20/03/2021 20:47

Smelly cheese is the best! Like properly matured Romadur..... Beautiful.
I was disappointed by Stinking Bishop, I must say. It smelled much less than I thought it will😂 I smelled worse/better

Giantrooster · 20/03/2021 21:00

Nooo anything stronger than a nice Swiss or French emmentaler cheese is too much. If it smells like it could make its own way out of the fridge, it's definitely too much for my sentive nose 😂.

But I'm neither French nor British so I'm not accustomed to cheese boards.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 20/03/2021 21:17

I love all the cheese. I don't discriminate. But the stinkers are my fave. Most are amazing woth proper lager 😁 So are pickled sausages(hotdogs).

I usually keep all supermarket cheese few weeks/months extra after bb date. My DH isn't as big fan though😂

Giantrooster · 20/03/2021 21:45

Your poor dh, sympathies 😁.
