Hi everyone, I started losing weight (again!!!) at the end of December. Started at 15st.1lb and this morning I was 13st 1.5lbs so nearly 2 stone lost 😊. Throughout my adult life I have yo-yoed and my weight has been a constant battle. At my heaviest I was 18st and at my lightest 9st 12lb. I am 5ft 3 so aiming to get to 10 stone and into a healthy BMI range. So despite good progress still another 3 stone to go!! I have been tracking on myfitnesspal and trying to be more mindful of what I eat rather than go on an extreme diet. I have found being on MN threads useful but one thread I'm on has gone very quiet and the other is so busy I find it hard to keep up with!!!! So thought I'd track my weight weekly on here to try to keep motivated and accountable. Weigh in each Saturday. Feel free to join in

Start weight (30th Dec 2020) 15st 1lb

Saturday 20th March: 13st 1.5lbs

Great idea.

Start weight middle of Jan 15st 2 lbs.
Today, 14st 8lbs.

I'm taking it slow and steady by cutting most of the junk (chocolate) rather than dieting.

@Hollyhocksarenotmessy thanks for joining me. That's great progress well done 😊

I'll join too, I'm exactly the same weight as you OP, I started 4th Jan at 14st 7.5 and weighing in at 13 at 1.5 this morning. Also using MFP and making an effort to fit in walks most days. Feeling so much better!

How do you manage at weekends? That's when I really struggle, want to "treat" myself to everything.

clto2021 · 20/03/2021 08:31

Welcome @lifesbetteraftertea 😊 love your username! At the moment I've found weekends okay (although it's hard resisting the "treats" my husband buys himself and the kids during the Saturday shop!!) What I usually find hard with weekends is the social aspect. So once everything opens up and we are allowed to see people I will definitely struggle!! However, my thinking is that as long as I'm sensible during the week and mindful (but not super strict and restrictive) at weekends then the weight will continue to come off. If I go cold turkey and extreme I just give up! so portion control and tracking is my friend 😊 a little bit of what I fancy but within reason.

I'll join :) I get a bit obsessive and restrict badly or I binge so I'll be taking it a step at a time, I'm 12st 12, I'm 5ft 8, my aim is 10st 7. My daughter has been sent home because her teacher caught covid, but they're all back Monday and I can start running and some exercise videos on YouTube again. I'll be calorie counting as low carb doesn't work very well for me; I'll aim for 1200 most days probably. And lots of water!

clto2021 · 20/03/2021 15:42

Welcome @BuggeringBugger 😊 sounds like a really sensible plan 👍I'm the same... can't do low carb! I'm doing 1200 cals too

Today is my first proper day of trying, the children are back at school, so I've started with a good breakfast, veggie sausage and egg whites, I won't have lunch and for dinner I'll have an omelette probably! I'm determined to do well!

clto2021 · 22/03/2021 14:07

@BuggeringBugger sounds like a good start 👍 2 nice healthy and hearty meals. I tend to have 3 smallish meals because I could never skip lunch! I only have a small bowl of cereal at about 6am so would eat my body weight in junk in the evening if I didn't have something during the day 😂

I would be starving with just cereal 😅 I like to be full!

clto2021 · 22/03/2021 21:37

I just don't have the time for anything substantial in the mornings. I must say it was a shock to the system when I realised how miniscule 30g of cereal actually was!!! Previously I was eating a full bowl. Even now I allow myself 40g because I can't bear to eat less than my 4 year old 🤪 seem to manage okay on it now I'm used to it. Always have a decent evening meal and don't feel too hungry during the day. I guess it's whatever works best for each person x 😊

Not such a good weigh in this week 😢 but not a surprise. If I'm honest I've gone off the rails this bank holiday weekend. Have seen family outdoors which has resulted in an Indian takeaway on Thursday, crusty bread, crisps, cake and pizza yesterday and a shed load of Easter eggs in the house 🙄 still have two days of socialising to go including a big roast on Sunday. I know I should be stronger but this is where I always trip up. I don't want to be rude so eat what is on offer but then go overboard!! I think a fresh start is needed!! Just found out my (fairly healthy and not overweight 59 year old) mum has heart disease so that's a big wake up call in terms of needing to be healthy!

Saturday 3rd April 12st 13lbs
