Has anybody tried this and did it work? DH has sent me a link (knows I want to loose weight, isn't being horrible) but it's £200 - is it worth it?

I tried it. It was £150 a session about 10 years ago. It did work a bit but it wore off quite quickly if I took a break. I've found therapy and reducing trigger foods much more effective but I would say that I do have proper binge eating disorder so maybe that wouldn't be the case for someone else.

Is that with a live hypnotherapist? It seems a lot. I use a virtual gastric band app which was about £7.

Thank you, sounds like it's not worth the cost.

Yes it's 3 sessions with a hypnotherapist. Does the app work @JohnMiddleNameRedactedSwanson

My mum is a hypnotherapist and she hypnotised me to not like crisps anymore. It worked for about 3 years then I got pregnant and craved bacon crisps and it was lost. She had been training as a hypnotherapist and I was her guineapig most weeks so I was already used to the process and knew what it could do for me. I trusted my
Mum so was receptive. She tried to get me to like more veg and that didn’t work at all 🤷‍♀️

It think many factors are involved not least a determination to lose weight not just a want or desire. Hypnotherapy doesn’t force you to do something you don’t want to or aren’t ready to do and it does need topped up if your craving takes over. You also have to fully trust your hypnotherapist and really want to cut back. If you’re hoping it can be persuasive when you don’t really want it (like mind control) it won’t work for longer than a day or two if at all. If overeating has an emotional basis it may be worth going to someone who can help you deal with the reasons you eat too.
