Salter scales with body composition analyser

Has anybody got the salter scales with body composition analyser? It out me at 17.9% body fat which although great, I find it hard to believe!

I have one, it's ages since I've weighed myself though so I can't remember the figures of what's acceptable or not.

Apparently my body fat is on the lower end.... Don't think so!

I don't understand how these scales work. How do they know what your body fat is just by you standing on them? What if you put a bag of potatoes on which was your same weight? Do you have to put your height in too?

Also, how does it measure things like visceral fat? You can be really thin but with high visceral fat.

They can't really figure out visceral fat but it's sort of a deduction process, they know electrical currents travel better through water than fat, so they calculate according to how much resistance that electric pulse encounters

Ah OK that takes a bit more sense. I didn't realise they sent an electrical pulse.

Ok, Mine says 20.1 body fat and 22 bmi.

Well mine says that I'm either 17.9% or 33.3% body fat depending if I choose athlete mode or not. I don't think I'm neither!
