Low calorie snacks

So. I’ve lost 3 and a bit stone, and I’ve got a stone and a half to go. I’ve done it the boring old fashioned way, through calorie counting and walking, and it’s working for me. BUT where I tend to fall down is snacks. I’d like to find some low calorie snack ideas that I can incorporate into life now, so that when I got my target weight I’ve got good options at my fingertips.

Hit me up with your low calorie snack ideas- maybe up to about 150 calories? Pre packaged or home made, sweet, savoury ideas all gratefully received.

(Please don’t suggest I should be following a different diet, or shouldn’t ever have a snack etc. I just want snack ideas Grin )

Well done you! If you've lost over three stone, we should be getting tips from you!

I always needed a sweet hit, so I like the mini fake Magnums, they're about 150 cals or the kids choc bars, like Freddo, mini pack of Buttons or the 'Little Bars' dairy milk that are all about 120 cals I think. For savoury I did Hula Hoops, Skips which are both under 100 cals. Cream Crackers are about 35 each, I'd eat about three in a go though.

A Kit Kat has only 101 kcals and I always find them satisfying when I’m cutting back.

Well done!

Ryvita rye topped with:

  • quark mixed with chopped egg whites, salt, pepper and fresh herbs to taste
  • tzaziky
  • quark with herbs and black pepper and slice of chorizo (we get large alices turkey chorizo)
  • sauerkraut and salami slice
Veg and various dips like quark and sriracha with herbs / spiced yogurt / "satay" (yogurt with powdered peanut butter and spiced like satay) Gherkins and cheese. Fruit and full fat yogurt

Oh and then simply just fruit or just veg. Pomegranate is great because it takes time to eat😁

Ooh, replies! Thank you :)

I also like the mini magnum type things. Soleros are also massive and under 100cals...

Ryvita crackerbread- 19cals each. I top it with wafer thin turkey or cream cheese and cucumber...

Apple and a dollop of Greek yoghurt is another one I go back to...

I didn’t know turkey chorizo existed! Gonna look into that, thanks. And I love a KitKat too :)

Veg and dips is a good shout too. I overdid carrots and hummus and have thrown the baby out with the bathtub a bit so might revisit that this week!

If you can stop at one, Lindt balls are only about 70 calories...

My other top tip is to have a cup of tea immediately I finish a meal- it breaks my need for pudding enough that I can assess if I’m actually still hungry 😂
