Losing weight from certain areas - arms and back

I’ve lost 13lb so far, and have another stone and a half to lose, which would give me a BMI of about 23-24.

I can see that I’ve lost some weight, but it isn’t very noticeable. I know that I will notice more as I continue to lose though.
But I’m owing nothing at all from my upper arms, back, below my shoulders etc. I am still very very lumpy, squishy and full of folds in these areas.

Is it likely that I will still be like this when I’ve lost more? Is there anything I can do about this whilst losing weight? I had in mind that I would lose more of the fat before I did any toning work.

I would start the toning work straight away - it's the only thing that will tighten up these areas. Unfortunately you can't lose fat from specific parts of your body. Congrats on your 13 lb loss!

There is no such thing as localised weight loss

Everyone puts on weight (and loses weight) quicker from certain areas

What you can do is build muscle, it really helps to balance out your figure to do sport (and that way develop your muscles a bit)

It’s hard work but really worth it imo

weights.
More and more evidence that weights are good for you generally in any case.
But weights
And well done on your loss!

I thought you would all say that! Ok, I will dig out my case of hand weights (never opened). Could anyone recommend a video or similar for someone who has never ever lifted and wouldn’t know how to start please?
