I need to lose 1.5 stone - health reason as advised by GP.

I don't know where to start. I struggle to stick to diets and I struggle to hold back on chocolate or sweets at night if watching the tv.

I've done slimming world before but I hate the restrictions and adding quark to food.

I thought about 5:2, but I'm just not sure where to start on any diet.

I have Apple fitness plus so my exercise is covered, I need to go to the diet side now.

I cook for DH (as I enjoy cooking!) so he will eat the same as me and if anything, he needs to put weight on haha!

Where is best to start to ascertain what diet is best?

I think start by keeping an honest diary of what you are eating when and why. Then you can look at it and see where the problem areas might be.

With any luck, even just writing down everything you eat will help you lose weight by making you more conscious of it.

If you are not ok with some serious restrictions in what to eat, have you thought about just making your portionsmaller? If you take a quarter off everything you eat off it creates incredible difference. Portion control is often what people have an issue with and causes weightgain then.

It could be a good start while you decide whatelse you could do

Brush your teeth after having dinner if evening snacking is a problem?

I know of an online weight loss website you can use, it's called the busybitchdiet.com and they're currently offering 90 days free. It's calorie counting so no quark and you can choose what works for you and your family. I've been doing it since their trial and lost 2st 11lb since April
