Headaches

Anyone have any tips? I’ve cut sugar out to try and banish the lockdown comfort eating cycle and shift some weight and I’ve got awful headaches.

Water & painkillers and power through unfortunately... think about what you will gain from cutting out sugar

Have you also cut out caffeine? I know when I try to cut down or cut out sugar I stop having tea and coffee and then end up with caffeine headaches. Also, if you are used to drinking sugary drinks are too hydrated enough? Are you doing low carb/keto or just cutting out sugar? If the latter I would have some fruit, but combine it worth nuts or yoghurt to regulate your blood sugar

@AubergineDream not doing keto, just cutting out refined sugar so will try the fruit and yoghurt. I haven’t cut out caffeine intentionally but I’m a big fan of vanilla latte so I’ve massively reduced caffeine just as a byproduct of the sugar. Didn’t occur to me until you mentioned it, thanks. Still hydrated enough as have replaced it with water.

Green tea or black tea with a squeeze of lemon are my go to when trying to avoid refined sugar and too much milk. I like it hot or iced.
Maybe try a coffee though and a couple of pain killers, (the caffeine helps the painkillers work), even if it doesn't taste great, might be too much to give up caffeine and sugar at the same time.
Alternatively you can get aspirin and paracetamol tablets that have caffeine already in them

Sugar is incredibly addictive and there will be withdrawal symptoms. They won't last forever though and so worth it. I really need to do it myself again! Sugar is really bad for our gut too, so load up on pre and pro biotic foods. They say most headaches actually start in the gut!
