Too little calories or not?

I'm struggling to find an answer by googling. I have a lot to lose-5 stone+ and previously I've done slimming world.

I'm just moving more & calorie counting now & lost 9lb + since the start of Jan. MFP has my calories set at 1300 per day. My TDEE is 2700. I'm doing ok mostly on 1300 with the very odd high day at the weekend, just wondering if it's ok or makes any negative difference to my body going for lower daily calories?

Thanks!

I think it’s sounds ok. I’ve been eating like that since April. I’ve lost 6 stone and am running marathons. Just make sure you are not skimping on vitamins and protein

I think cutting it too low puts you at risk of it being unsustainable. I altered the calories in My Fitness Pal and aimed for 1500. I stuck to it easily (don’t eat back exercise calories, whenever I entered exercise and ate the extra calories it gave me I actually put on weight!) I’m at target now (3 stone off) but now still log on MFP every day to maintain but I have increased my MFP calories to my TDEE amount.
Well done on the weight loss since starting in Jan!

Thanks you guys!

I hate exercise but so far doing my 10k steps a day & not eating extra for that. I'm mostly eating healthy stuff with fruit & veg. Dry Jan has helped but long term it may be less sustainable.

Every time I've done SW before, with hindsight, I've eaten extra fruit & veg as it was 'free' but I'm delighted to have made a dent fairly quickly this time. @Rowenasemolina you've done amazing, massive well done on your fantastic loss!

@Flowerythoughts 3 stone off is fab. Good to know that 1500 is sustainable longer term 😁
