Ate too much for dinner and went over on my calories. I didn't get my exercise in as my baby was a grump all day and when I could have got out the weather was pouring. I'm feeling really down about myself and my stomach feels full and bloated. I need to just put today behind me and carry on but it's hard for it not to affect my mood. Anyone else fall off today?

Yep, it happens though so don't let it derail you.

To lose 1lb a week you need to eat 500 less calories a day than your body uses to maintain. So over the week that's 3500 calories deficit.

If you have one bad day where you have 2 chocolate bars or a bottle of wine or whatever, in all likelihood that will only come to around 500 calories. If you're good for the rest of the week you still have a 3000 calorie deficit.

Never look at one day in isolation and make decision based on it, you need to look at the bigger picture and keep chugging on.

Thank you. That's a good way to look at it. I've been pretty good this week I think. I'm feeling sensitive as tomorrow technically is weigh in day. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

I just want to eat a chocolate cake to make me happy but I know it won't really.

MeBlush whole bar of mini egg chocolate (worth it) but just going to get straight back on it and remind myself that it’s an overall deficit that matters Grin

Oh my goodness a mini egg bat of chocolate sounds amazing #missing the point of the thread

OP that’s great advice you were given on the deficit, right off one day and not the rest of the week. I’ve learnt also that with small children you just have to force yourself to go even if it’s raining!!!

Yes I fell off today but am also doing dry Jan so it’s a joyless month all round. I am going to try again tomorrow, my trigger is testing food as I cook it.
