Why is my belly still fat?

I have lost 2.5 stone, and I now weigh 8 stone 3lb. I am 5'3 so shortish.

I have lost weight pretty much everywhere except my abdomen- there is still a lot of fat there and sometimes I look like i am 3 months pregnant as it sticks out like a bump. My waist is 25 inches but it then goes out at my abdomen.

It's frustrating because my abdomen is where I want to lose weight! I have no bum anymore but a fat abdomen.

Does anyone know why this is and if there are any tips to get rid of this fat?

You can’t spot reduce so you’d likely have to lose even more weight.
Depending on your body type, you may never really be able to have a flat stomach e.g. if you are an Apple

I have the same thing, I think it's just body type. Women's bodies like clinging to that belly fat (to protect pregnancies?).

I think exercise can get rid eventually but you can't target the area really.

I'm 9st 4, a bit taller than you, size 8. I have a tummy and in the evenings I can bloat and look literally 6mo gone. Maybe try and tackle bloating rather than fat?

I’d mention it to the GP, just to rule out anything serious before deciding on a diet/exercise routine.

I'm same shape as you. No answers sorry

I think belly fat is often hormonal/sugar. Have you tried totally cutting sugar?

hamstersarse · 10/01/2021 11:38

As pp it’s hormonal and can be regulated by reducing sugar and refined carbohydrates

Get your calories from whole natural foods, no junk

This is about right
