So according to NHS Guidelines I am obese for my age and height, I'm 20 and 4foot 8inches, I weigh 10st 11oz. Tbh I feel fat, I only feel nice in certain clothes my bf bought me two large T-shirt's aswell as my sister for Christmas and they just well don't fit 😭 can anyone give me any exercise ideas that aren't harsh on my knees please? I did do jogging but that resulted in not walking for 2+ weeks where my knees had just given up, I can't stand for a long period of time either otherwise my knees will give out on me 😬 I hate it! I can bare through the pain when exercising as my knees constantly hurt anyway so any tips on starting my weight loss journey semi pain free would be great full! Thank you!!Grin

Aside from walking and light weights at home, I wouldn't be concentrating on exercise. You need to lose weight before you get involved with any high impact exercise or jogging again. Reduce your portions, count your calories, don't eat rubbish food, and drink lots of water. If your knees already hurt, strenuous exercise will only lead to injury if you don't lose weight first, and you can't out exercise a poor diet.

Dieting is easy for me! I can cut out my usual takeaways which is fine I don't mind doing that and calorie counting! I just don't want to be this size anymore 😣 it's taking a toll on me, I couldn't even push my LO buggy into town today without getting out of breath multiple times! Before having her I had a very high metabolism which has now since gone 😬 I'm normally quite active as I walk everywhere but anything I do I just seem to be getting bigger 🙄

If dieting is easy for you then it shouldn't be a problem for you to lose the weight fairly quickly - so you'll feel better about yourself soon.

Weight loss is mostly about diet rather than exercise so don't worry if you can't do any.

Sign up on MyFitnessPal or use a TDEE calculator and get a baseline for what your maintenance calories are.

Aiming for 1lb loss a week means you need to eat 500 calories less than maintenance every day. MyFitnessPal works it all out for you and then you just enter your food and it calculates how many calories you have remaining for the day and whether it was a good mix of protein/carbs and fat.

You will lose weight if you eat less calories then you use.

Doing exercise as well is good as it gets your heart working better, supports improved mental health, builds muscles and all that good stuff as well as helping you lose weight.

I started with walks and the couch to fitness programme via the OurParks website. Both free and no equipment needed.

Thank you! I will start my diet from tomorrow as I did just have a takeaway as we got home late and my mum already done dinner for everyone! Thank you for advice! Hopefully be at my goal weight of 7st soon enough! Does anyone know what happens to your excess skin at all? I have a fair bit from my LO does it just go? Or will I still have it?

You're young which works in your favour when it comes to skin, focus on getting good nutrition and plenty of water to help keep your skin hydrated.

It may not all go, in which case building some muscle can help.

I'm 37, I've been obese or morbidly obese since I was 11, currently overweight and working my way down to a health BMI. I'm going to have some lose skin, hopefully not loads and loads but definitely some. It will still be better than all the fat!

I so want to loose a good stone after having my last baby but we've had lots going on so I just comfort eat and eat at the wrong times
Got zero motivation to get my ass back fit though or to diet and I quite like having hips as Iv never had these before !!! Cannot win right now I just want my belly gone mostly an no stretch marks or loose skin!!!! I am fit and I walk and do the odd jog/run with oh when I have time and I do my workouts at home just my diet !!
Someone mentioned the water challenge once xx

What is the water challenge? I also agree with you there it's hard getting fit I also love my hips aswell I've never had a figure before I was a size 6 with nothing to me before I had my girl 🤣 it's just my loose skin and legs I'm worried about really 🤣 but can't have a big bum without having a bit of gut which is annoying 😅 I can't do squats because my knees give out lol xx

That's annoying ! Could you not get some knee supports and maybe get some elastic bands ? Put them around your legs and then you have to pull your legs appart. This would help tone and not do your knees?
I am pretty fit and healthy but same as you my belly is a mess since having the kids with loose skin and stretch marks. I was always a size 10 and I'm still the same but top is now size 12 as my boobs grew! I genuinely love having hips tho I used be shaped like a "l" now I have boobs a little bit of a bum and hips??? I am slowly loosing some weight iv been trying the raspberry ketones and drinking tons of water. Just need cut the crap when it's a night ! So harddddd tho Xx

Also no clue on a water challenge my mate told me it. I just gathered you drink nothing but water for 20 days and nothing else like tea coffee fizzy pop ? Ment be really good tho ! X

I've tried knee supports but I can't get any to fit because my legs are huge! Idek I've tried from medium to xL and nothing fits!😫 my brother even has dodgy knees and smaller legs than me and couldn't even bare the pain of wearing them (the biggest size I have) I'm also really bad with takeaways 😬 I give in so easy cause the burgers just look to die for 🥴 but only time I do eat takeaway is when my LO goes to her dads, I don't usually eat during the day and only have dinner if my daughters in bed which is normally too late so I hardly eat at all! I'll have toast in morning if LO at her dads but other then that I don't eat but I do have a "small" addiction to cola as it gives me the energy boost I need without eating!
