Nearly 2 stone in 6 months, but have lost 3 in total, and kept it off. I wasn’t in a rush though and wanted to take it slowly to make sure I didn’t just jack it in and end up putting it back on.

I worked out TDEE, amount of calories to stay exactly as I am, reduced that figure by 20% to find the calories to aim for to lose weight.

I then weighed and logged everything I consume religiously on My Fitness Pal. It’s tedious and time consuming in the beginning but, once you have your favourites logged & all your own recipes saved, you can just click to enter them in future. It was an education to see how calories add up. A sandwich bought from a shop can have more calories than a well portioned roast dinner. That small piece of cake? A third of my daily allowance! It has helped me make better choices and I am still able to eat that chocolate bar or packet of crisps if I feel like it, I just counteract it by having a smaller jacket potato or whatever with dinner. It has stopped me mindlessly dipping several biscuits into a cup of tea and wondering why I was putting on weight. It’s easy to kid yourself ‘it’s only a couple of hundred calories’ but when you log on My Fitnesses Pal and see where the calories add up it can be quite a shock.

3 stone, running 5k every other day. I stopped eating bread for breakfast and at lunch and instead had scrambled egg and soups. My body feels great and I still have treats when i want, i just run a bit more.

2.5 stone... low fat vegan whole food diet, lots of exercise (running & gym), 1300-1400 calories/day ... I was younger (about 30) and it was hard work !

I have just lost 3 stones 10 pounds in 12 weeks. I followed a very low calorie, very low carb diet combined with 16:8. Not for the faint-hearted...
