Beginners guide to.lifitng weights

I have had some really good advice on another thread about how some good long term tactics for losing weight. I currently cycle and run a lot but something that come up a while I've been researching was weights.
I dont have access to a gym but could buy weights and do at home. Has anyone got any very basic beginners videos they could recommend?

Those 10-20 minute ab workout videos on YouTube are the best. I recommend checking out MadFit. I know 10-20 minutes may not seem like a lot, but it's incredibly difficult, especially if you don't have much experience working out your core.
