MyFitnessPal or (free) Weight watchers - which is best?

I have a six month free pass to WW and I have also downloaded MFP which is free (at its basic level). So I suppose my question is which is more effective - counting calories or counting points?!

We tend to eat healthily and cook from scratch 6 times a week. However I have a killer sweet tooth and often snack from stress or boredom. Cake

Not helpful, sorry, but I use fitbit for tracking meals. I couldn’t get into my fitness pal years ago, I think Fitbit was just easier to use. They have a decent catalogue of food, I’m always chuffed when I scan something bought from the supermarket and it’s already registered in their system

Just to clarify, I don’t actually have a fit bit. I just use the app to log food

I prefer MyFitnessPal as it's just calorie tracking, whereas WW had a whole terminology and points and stuff to wrap my head around.

I don't pay any attention to my macros, I just aim to eat below the number of calories it sets as my maximum every day. You do have to remember to go in and resave your goals in MFP if you lose a lot though to make sure it adjusts your calorie limit down as you get smaller.

I started with an allowance of just over 1600 and am now at 1440 after losing 47lb.

I've been having a play around the WW site and app and it is quite impressive so I think I'm going to give that a go Smile

If you have it free, gove ot a go. You might keep some larts, you might not. Can't know without trying😁
I never tried them so I am an MFP voter

MyFitnessPal is great, and you don't need to upgrade, keep the free version. It allows me still have some unhealthy choices eg chocolate biscuit, but still be within my calorie allowance for the day. I hate the syn/ bad food labels that come with WW
