I'm not losing weight

I'm 5"4 and now 92kg which makes my BMI around 30. We had COVID recently and I couldn't eat a thing, was just drinking water and lost about 6lb in 2 weeks. I thought it was a good time to lose weight as my weight has been creeping up over the last few years. I don't lose weight easily, I've tried every diet under the sun and I'm now on about 1000 calories per day, but haven't lost any weight in the last 2 weeks Hmm I actually feel better health wise but do have bad constipation despite eating lots of lettuce, so will continue to eat low calorie rather than - - pig out-- go back to how I was.
Any words of advice? I honestly feel like I should be losing several pounds per week the way I'm eating.

Oh and just to give some context, I'm 37, have been obese (at times morbidly obese) since I was 11.

I started calorie counting on 1st August 2020 and I've lost 48lb in 4 months. I'm 5ft 8, started 233lb (105kb) currently 184lb (84kg).

Barring a couple of high stress or ill days I have never eaten less than 1200 calories a day. I limit carbs but don't cut them out completely and I try for snacks to be high protein/high fat, not carb/fruit.

I do 3 x 30 minute exercise sessions a week like swimming, brisk walk or exercise video, the Our Parks Couch to Fitness programme is free and starts easy then works up to harder.

Have you ever had your blood sugar levels tested? I've always had to starve myself to lose weight (800 cals or less) and if I ate my suggest calorie intake of 1500 I'd gain. I'm on metformin now and I can finally lose and maintain my weight like a 'normal' person.

I did actually have routine bloods recently and thyroid function and blood sugar levels came back as withing normal range.

Thank you for all you replies. I wanted to post an update. After my last post I went off the rails for a few days, which seems to have 'reset' something as I've lost 2lb since. at this rate it'll take me a year to lose a few stone. Onwards and upwards!

It took me a year to lose 2 stone of pregnancy weight. Yes, it was slow but I kept it off.

Good start, well done!
