A friend noticed my weight loss! :-D

I bumped into a friend at the post office yesterday and she remarked on my weight loss (we are close so it wasn't rude!). It felt so good to know that I wasn't just imagining it (I don't do scales as I'm too scared - although I have promised myself I will weight myself on the first day post lockdown). I started in mid-August so it's now been three and a half months and I must say that that infamous Kate Moss quote 'nothing tastes as good as skinny feels' is spot on. At least for me. I feel so much happier in my body and in my clothes. Things fit and look better.

So if you've only just started on a weight loss journey, don't get discouraged if you don't see results at first. Your body may be adjusting to the new food types and quantities but chances are you will see results (I'm counting calories on MFP btw and am on 1,200 a day).

@BarryWhiteIsMyBrother well done! That must be a great feeling to have others notice your progress! And thank you for the encouragement. I'm just starting out, and want to lose 2 stones. I've been struggling a bit over the past month with everything going on, but felt motivated this week to get back to it. Trying not to get discouraged!

Well done :-)

Well done @BarryWhiteIsMyBrother - I am also avoiding the scales because I think I have put on around half a stone over lockdown.

I know I will feel better in myself if I eat sensibly/mindfully for a few weeks so that my clothes feel less "snug".

This summer I lost 20lb. With lockdown and the children being off school etc I hadn’t seen many people so you’d think it’d be very noticeable when September rolled around and life got back to normal/ish.

ONE COMMENT.

One person commented on my weight loss. I’m not sure I really wanted people to comment. I suppose I would never comment on someone else’s unless it was a very large amount and I thought they appreciate it. So I guess I tell myself people have noticed, they just don’t think it’s polite to say.

This is one of my closest friends and we regularly remark on the other's appearance (nice shoes, horrid lipstick, gosh what have you done to your hair/your hair looks nice today, etc.) so it really wasn't a bad thing she mentioned it.

My weight in date is fast approaching and I just need to remember that it's been going well and whatever the scales say, I will just continue as I've been doing...

Best of luck to all you others on the same journey - by spring time we'll hopefully all be happier with our figures :-)
