Hello just wanted to ask if anyone got any weight loss surgey via the NHS and did it work?
I have been referred and at the time of the referral my bmi was 41. But now I have lost a little and now my bmi is now 38. I wonder if they would still accept me or refuse me

Hi I had a gastric bypass on the nhs at the end of august.
It was a long road for me to get to the point of surgery (3 years of jumping through hoops etc) but so worth it to me already and I’m only early days.
So far I’ve lost 6 stone in total - 3 stone before surgery and 3 stone since.
It’s still hard work but it is such a helpful tool! I would recommend looking on YouTube for peoples experiences with bariatric surgery, and there are also lots of Facebook groups that are useful to have a look at.

Also I’m not sure about the bmi thread hold to be honest, I think it changes from area to area but you may still be ok to have it done!
