Frustrating!

Hi all,
I've been using MFP at 1450 cals (I'm 5ft1 with 4 stone to lose) and exercising 4-5 times a week. I didn't experience that big first week loss that lots of people do (and that I have done in the past) which was a bit annoying but I carried on. For context here, my diet before this was shocking, at least 3000cals a day I reckon because I was drinking nothing but Coke, eating loads of crisps and chocolate and white bread and calorie laden stuff.
I've been at this for just over 3 weeks now and I've been down 7lbs but back to 5lb loss. I've had the odd "treat" which shows immediately on the scales the next day but I know a lot of it will be increased salt/sugar water retention.
The last week I've been up and down but ended up staying the same once the week was done.
It seems like one meal with carbs or one sweet treat is wrecking the whole weeks work but I'm not eating 3500 cals worth of carbs!
I had my 2nd baby 4 months ago and have been on the implant for about 2 months and have just started my 3rd period so I wonder if that's not helping either.
I've been measuring myself but because I'm so lumpy and bumpy around my waist, depending on where the tape measure is I can be within a 3 inch range so have no idea what's accurate.
I'm also very constipated!
I'm just finding it all so frustrating, how can I not be losing much weight when the difference in my diet is huge?! I can't go any lower with my calories or I'll end up hungry and miserable and giving up. I'm eating lots of protein and good fats and trying not to eat too many carbs.
Just a rant really. I don't want to be fat any more but this is making me equally miserable because its a lot of effort for not much gain (or loss!)

I think it's your constipation at the moment. I had bit of a plateau and what helped was eating foods with live gut helping bacteria. When the digestive got sorted, weight started dropping again.

I think you have to cut yourself a bit of slack here. You just had a baby, you are going through hormonal changes and so on. Concentrate on getting your body healthy and then on the weight.

Thanks for replying. Yeah the constipation is really bothering me, I've got some senna today to see if it helps. Will defo try some live yoghurt etc.
I'll try to be easier on myself. I suppose I don't see it as 'baby weight' because I've been like this for years. I'm happy that I've lost 5lb but with such a long way to go it feels like I'll never get there!

5 pounds in that time is absolutely fine! Don't stress it.
I can move easily 2+kg up and down in a span of week so don't worry if some weeks scale isn't kindly showing less😁
