Intermittent Fasting 20:4 / 18:6

I need to lose 3 stone in weight and been yoyoing at this for almost 10 years now! I love food and wine and basically just can't get my act into gear.

I found an old diary from 20 years ago and when I had gained a stone I basically cut down to one meal a day and lost the weight. Way before intermittent fasting became so well known I subconsciously did it and it worked.

So here I am 48 and resuming this and would love any feedback from others. Second day in. Yesterday I managed to do 20:4. Felt fine and started eating at 3pm. My problem is that my husband and I usually eat around 8pm and tbh I think I need to move up to 20:4 IF slowly as today j have struggled to wait until 5pm to eat. Perhaps to start I should do 18:6.

Any other feedback on this?

Hi OP,
I've just weighed myself and put on 4 pounds in a week. I need to sort it out. I was looking into intermittent fasting but will try 2 meals to start off (11:8), so breakfast and lunch and will stop eating at 3PM.

Personally for me, 8PM is too late. I like to sleep on a empty stomach and my last meal is never past 5pm. Good luck OP

I've also been reading about OMAD. I think I can do this 5 days a week then 16:8 of a weekend.

Third day of IF and I am 3lbs down. I did stuff my face in Sunday though, so the scales were higher!

Good luck. The only way I have got and kept weight off is by 16:8 in conjunction with keeping an eye on the calories. Just sort the timing to suit you. I've never been a breakfast person so I tend to start around 2pm. We eat our main meal around 8.30 so that suits me well.
