Failing at slimming world

Is anyone else on slimming world and really struggling?
I lost almost 10lbs from Xmas to first lockdown. Fell off the wagon in lockdown.
I've lost what I gained but I'm still only around 10lbs total loss.
I have a good week 3lbs or so then rubbish weeks of either minimal losses or small gains. I've got loads to lose.
The majority of time I'm on plan I do have the odd rubbish days. Usually related to stress, being exhausted from looking after my toddler or work.
I just don't know why it isn't working for me Sad
I stay to group as much as possible. I have cut down massively the amount of takeaways and chocolate I have.
I just feel so disheartened at the constant fluctuations.
I've got a long way to go so I don't understand why it's not coming off at a more reasonable pace.

Honestly I think for some people it works great and not for others! Doesn’t work for me as it doesn’t teach much about portion control and synning an avocado seems crazy to me! It’s also pretty carb heavy and carbs make me bloat and hinder my weight loss.

You’ve given it a good go so why not try something else- fasting works really well for me.

Can you post your food diary? Do you drink plenty of water? My weight loss is slow if I don’t drink lots of water

I stuck to sw religiously and the weight just didn't shift. I lost about 3lbs in 2 months. Eating pasta and all the other free foods just doesn't work for me for some reason but it's worked amazingly for two of my friends.

I do ww and it works better but still frustrates me. I used to eat a pot of onken fat free natural yoghurt with berries for lunch which is free on the ww tracker. I told the teacher the weight wasn't shifting and told her what I ate and she said "oh you can't eat a whole pot" and she was amazed I had.

  1. Point it then don't make of free
  2. I was obviously at a slimming club because I have trouble with portion control so don't be shocked!

I’d try to fast 800 for 3 weeks, you’ll get a great loss and lack of boosts carbs will address hunger pangs. My weight has fallen very slowly since but the initial motivation was great and I’ve kept it off. I’m going to do it for another couple of weeks (after this week) to get another good loss then concentrate on keeping it off.

I think I'll give it one more week, keep a strict food diary and see what happens it might be time to accept it doesn't work.
My better weeks have always been when I've been mostly eating salads and minimal carbs so maybe I need to pay attention to that Sad

It might not be for you, different things work for different people, eg the only thing that has ever worked for me is cutting out sugar and eating whatever I wanted beyond that, which I know doesn't work for everyone either. If you're struggling and it's making you miserable try something different.
