I was reading an article the other day which claimed up to ten portions of fruit and veg a day was really beneficial to health(more veg, less fruit)
Does anyone manage this?
I can’t imagine how we would afford it if everyone in the family ate like this! We probably manage 6-7 most days, with 2-3 of those fruit.

Well done :-). I got a bag of (not reduced but gorgeous) banana shallots for 15p in Lidl the other day. Let the competitive veg shopping begin. Oh hang on, you won!

I don't think you actually need a whole 10 portions, I think it's more important to have a diversity of fruit and vegetables.

Eg I have 2 different fruits with oats for breakfast, which could be a few raspberries and cherries. Lunch is always accompanied by a bowl of salad, typically with 8 or 9 different salad veg.

Piece of fruit mid afternoon, then 3-5 veg with dinner.

Current thinking is to try to incorporate 30 DIFFERENT plants over the course of a week. This obviously includes oats/nuts/seeds etc too.
