I weigh more than my husband

and I'm mortified.

I've put on 2 stone in the last 2 years roughly. I put on 1 when I finished breastfeeding DD2 and didn't adjust my calories and I put on another 1 during lock down due to comfort eating.

DH was moaning recently that his stomach didn't have much definition any more (he lost 3 stone and gained a 6 pack a few years ago) and in the course of the conversation it came out that he weighs about 10 stone and I weight 11!

I knew I'd put weight on. I have 1 pair of jeans that fit and I'm now wearing leggings most days. But it's the fact that I'm almost a stone heavier than DH that really affects me.

We've also gotten into a really bad habit of drinking daily (mostly scotch) which needs to stop.

I have had success with 5:2 in the past but I think a month of 4:3 to start might give me a bit of encouragement.

This has to change.

Hi Helga,

I need to put a stop to getting bigger too, I’m 68.3kg for 1m63 which is 10st10 for 5ft4.
I have no excuses ( no children, I can cook) my BMI is 25.7 so I’m already overweight.
I eat pretty healthy but I drink sugary drinks the whole time, squash, oasis, ice tea etc and I also drink too much wine/beer.

I’m not sure how to start. What’s your plan ?
