5:2 - is this normal?

Hi all - have been trying out ‘5:2’ the last couple of weeks as well as the S diet (no snacks, seconds or sweets apart from on S days and special occasions). Mostly I’ve been able to stick to it and eating up to 1,500 calories on non fast days. I’ve been walking at least 40 minutes a day If not longer and doing spin classes a few times a week.

The first week I lost 2kg (I’m trying to lose about 8kg in total) but I’ve weighed myself today a week later and I haven’t lost any, in fact I’m up by 0.1kg so basically just maintained.

Is this normal?? I thought usually you’d lose a little bit every week.

Trying not to be disheartened! How much did you lose on 5:2 and how quickly?

Totally normal. Weight loss isn’t linear and will be affected by your hormones. It will come off eventually. 2kg was a lot to lose and once and chances are some of it was water. Don’t get disheartened.
