Eating calories instead of drinking them

NC and have my tin hat on!

I've been counting calories (1250) for the last few months with some success but I end up having a couple of glasses of wine a day too, so there's 250 cals gone - or more!

Im not stupid and know that only eating 900-1000 cals a day is not sustainable or is it healthy to "spend" that many calories on alcohol. So, I am not drinking in September. I felt like I ate so much today, it's like adding an extra meal to the mix Smile.

Anyone else dropping the booze for weight loss? I could probably do with some support and/or accountability.

I've just lost 8lb in the last week from hitting it at all angles. I did 16:8, low carb and no alcohol. I feel great! Since lockdown I've had a drink most nights of the week, not more than one or two but it was the regularity that was worrying me.

I haven't missed alcohol at all and I think that's because I'd cut out all sugar. I think it's the sugar and high carbs that make you want alcohol.

I think calorie counting makes you very very obsessive actually. I think it's the quickest way to an eating disorder that there is.

HollowTalk for some, calorie counting is not recommended for sure, but for many it is really helpful in holding up a mirror to what you're eating, portion size, the difference of healthier foods etc. Calorie counting has allowed me lose while eating as much as I can of healthy food!

I know it's certainly spot lighted how much I drink!

I don't think cc is for everyone but it really suits me.
