Anyone wanting to lose weight and help to motivate each other / be accountable?

I've decided I'm going to start again with trying to lose some weight.
I've been saying for months that I need to lose some weight, so i think it's time I got on and did it.

I'm not massively overweight, but enough that I'm not happy with myself.
I'm 5 foot 4, and around 11 stone 10ish. I'll weigh myself properly in the morning. I want to be around 9 stone 7 ideally (based on previous experience) however would be happy at 10 stone initially.

My problem is part laziness - I keep just thinking ugh I'll get a takeaway - and part snacking.
I do prep lunches but its the evenings that are a problem.

Anyone else want to join in with keeping accountable and supporting each other?
I intend on logging my food on myfitnesspal, and doing some more exercise.

I'm with you @dancinggroot, I need to do the same. Starting 1st September.

I've put on loads of weight in the past 6 months. I used to run 3 times a month, never fast or further than 5k but still exercise. but have run around 10 times since March.
Currently 72.5kg, 5ft2. I'm shocked at how much I put in. I knew I had, but still shocked. I feel unhealthy too.
Just re-registered with MFP. Downloaded the NHS app. Went for a run today and plan to get back on that track, plus other exercise on non running days.

Hi, I have been actively trying to lose weight again since June but would be nice to share the journey with some others. Initially I was following slimming world, but now calorie counting and finding that much more successful.

Starting weight: 15 stone 7 lb (3 years ago - pregnancy in middle hence the big gap)
Current weight: 12 stone 7 lb
Goal weight: 10 stone

Since I started in June I've lost 1 stone and 6.2 lb. I'm feeling quite motivated to keep going and I'm back to work from Mat leave next week so I'm hoping that will help as I will hopefully be more active.

I would love to join. I will be starting properly tomorrow. Also giving up alcohol for a month or two. Just fed up of feeling like this.

I would love to join too! @Dancinggroot I have exactly the same stats as you as of this morning - 11st 10 & 5ft 4. Also wanting to get down to 9.5 st. I’ve got a 6 & 8 year old back to school next week, so hopefully I’ll have more prep & exercise time. I had a baby 2 weeks before lockdown so the last 6 months have been fun Hmm

I’ve found a WhatsApp group helpful previously if anyone fancied that?

Weighed myself this morning and yep, 11stone 10.

I've had 2 slices of uncut bread with clover light for breakfast 🙈 - not the best but it did smell really good.
I prepped some pasta earlier in the week so will have that for lunch. I've also got some leftover chicken and mince so will use one of those for dinner tonight.

I'm also planning on going for a long walk with my toddler later. My husband is working today so I have to do something that involves the toddler.

Anyone got any recommendations for good workouts that are easy with a toddler around? I also would like to be able to walk tomorrow - I tried a joe wicks pe lesson and couldn't walk for 3 days mid lockdown 😅

I've got a lot more to lose than any of you have - around 4.5 stone. Blush Have already lost just over 2.5 stone though, so I'm getting there, slowly. Not well today so just resting but I've been trying to exercise daily, eat healthily and do 16:8 five days a week (not always successfully). I have also avoided alcohol since Feb, though I never drank that much anyway.

I could use some encouragement so would like to join you all.

Dancinggroot · 30/08/2020 10:52

andwhatnext what NHS app are you using? I find running difficult, I have a dodgy knee so I'm alright for the first few times then end up in a lot of pain.

rainbowsssss I considered slimming world but haven't signed up yet. Do you feel calorie counting is much better? Or do you still use some of the slimming world tricks?

sitckmansladylove welcome! Do you have a lot to lose?

CrochetNut congratulations on the baby! How did you manage with a newborn in lockdown? Are things getting more normal for you now?

AlexaShutUp sounds like you're doing amazing so far! What times do you do 16:8? I might try that as my problem can be a lot of mindless snacking at night when I'm not hungry

I uninstalled the NHS app and started using MFP again.

I am off work until next week so had a great day gardening, 6mile cycle, walk with DD first thing.
Relatively healthy meals, snacks weren't crisps for a change. And no wine!

Started doing the 30 day plank challenge too. Tried before but only got to 10 days.

How's everyone else doing?

Hello, I’ve been loosing weight since early June. It’s the busiest time at work do drops off ne then but as soon as September hits and work slows I pile it back on. I’ve lost 10.5kgs since 16th June.

My weight tracker says I need to loose another 27kgs 😳😳 however I don’t want to loose that much. I’m 5ft8 and currently 97.2kgs. I’m aiming for another 10kgs and then I’ll reassess.

It’s my SDD’s wedding in 12 months and I don’t want to be the fat one in the photos!! I’ve dropped from a size 20 to size 16 so would like to be a 12/14 in the end. Need to work it out in pounds but as I’m abroad I’m used to using kgs.

Dancinggroot · 02/09/2020 19:36

I'm not doing too bad.
Not eating the best but definitely making better choices. Hopefully more sustainable than cutting a lot out.
We had pizza last night, but I got a small pizza on its own rather than a large or small with chips.
I've been doing some more walking than usual too. Not a lot of other exercise, but I feel exhausted currently. It's hard work to stay awake after 8pm when the toddler is in bed let alone do some exercise. I think i need to start taking some multivitamins or iron tablets or something.
