How to maintain? Will I be tracking forever?

I’ve just reached my goal of losing 1.5 stone (1 stone I already had, the other half was early lockdown comfort eating!) I used weight watchers online, which I’ve used many times before to lose weight (including after both kids), but whenever I stop tracking and paying attention I’ll have gained back a stone in a few months Blush the gain always comes from snacks... my breakfast, lunch and dinner when I’m on WW are the same as when I’m not following it, but I end up adding in snacks like a mid-morning slice of toast, cheese and crackers, finishing off the kids leftovers, etc. I don’t have a massively sweet tooth, more of a savoury one.

I’m at my happy weight at the moment, I feel really healthy and physically comfortable. I don’t want to put it all back on and then have to lose it again! Am I going to have to track forever?! How do people maintain their weight loss??? I don’t necessarily mind staying on WW and maintaining. I’m in the habit now and it feels very sustainable for me. I am less strict at the weekends and still have treats like a once a week takeaway. I don’t feel super happy about paying for it every month!

So how do people maintain? I think I’ve always been naive in the past thinking I can go back to “normal” eating and keep the weight off Confused

Congrats on your weight loss.

I reached my target weight several months ago, I still track because I don’t want to ever go back to where I was. I’m happy to keep tracking.
I use My Fitness Pal to track my calories, it drives DH nuts when I have to dish all my bits up separately, because I’m weighing & writing down so I can log it. I feel that logging is such a small part of my day, and it keeps me happily on track, so I don’t plan to stop.

Yeah I plan to keep tracking and to weigh myself every week. I don’t mind doing it as I’d rather track forever than be obese again.

Thanks both. I think I will keep tracking. To be fair, it doesn’t take long and I’m quite used to weighing out my food etc. I could switch to MFP as it’s free, but I quite like the WW points system, so will stick with that for now.

It’s actually shocking how quickly I can regain a stone when I take my eye off the ball. And I don’t feel like I’m particularly overeating at the time when it happens, so obviously I’m going to have to keep myself in check. I’m so much happier and feel so much better at this weight, definitely don’t want to go backwards again.

Yeah me too. I can put on loads of weight really easily and I’m really bad at picking up on it before it’s too late.
