Anyone want the join. I'm using this combined with myfitnesspall to track calories.www.nhs.uk/live-well/healthy-weight/start-the-nhs-weight-loss-plan/ I am thinking of having a list of suitable breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks. I could write one, but does anyone know I good list. Pre children I had average BMI but far too big waist to hip ratio. Nowwi am on the border of overweight but it's all round my tummy, no trousers stay up right unless the belt is digging into me or they are really stretchy. Anyone like to join?

Yes, me

Pommes · 17/08/2020 06:40

Can I join? I didn't know about the NHS plan until I saw your post - thank you.

gmailconfusion2 · 17/08/2020 06:42

I would, I've. Tried starting to eat sensibly the last three weeks and failed each time.

Swiftnicola · 17/08/2020 06:46

Just had a look at the recipes -they look really good!

Bramblecrumble · 17/08/2020 09:24

Gazelda · 17/08/2020 09:31

This looks good. I use MFP at the moment, but need an exercise plan alongside. I'm in,

Swiftnicola · 17/08/2020 11:51

The recipes are in a link to Easy Meals app

gmailconfusion2 · 17/08/2020 17:18

Well I'm off to a bad start. Planned everything this morning then 6 bourbons and a cookie later... Over by 525 calories. I really need to think before putting food in my mouth.

Bramblecrumble · 18/08/2020 08:26

@Swiftnicola welcome. Did you try any recipies?
@Pommes welcome
@gmailconfusion2 throw away biscuits and junk food is n your house I did buy biscuits yesterday too. There's a oops secition. I'd say just write it down and move on.
@gazelda I have myfitnesspall, trying to get better at using it. I think next week is all about excersize. I like to think my job is active enough but it's not manual labour I'm just on my feet quite a bit so need some proper excersize. I occasionally use YouTube to do aerobics but I haven't been back into running since having my daughter two years ago. I liked to get out of bed and run but now.... I'm only occasionally awake before my daughter and mornings are less simple. I could easily schedule in some time too run. Have you ever done couch to 5k? I've never completed it.

Summary of week one pdf...eat lots of fibre from fruit, veg and brown rice/pasta. Check your portion size and eat slowly, thinking about what you are doing being aware when you are full. I like this, a bit like the idea of mindful eating.

I've been following this for couple of weeks. Lost 5 lb and then stalled! What was helping in the early weeks was to walk - 10,000 - 15,000 steps per day - so I am trying to keep my steps up again.

gmailconfusion2 · 18/08/2020 08:36

@bramblecrumble husband will kill me if I bin them. He has now moved them to his office so they aren't calling me which should be enough.

I'm doing exercise videos on YouTube atm, found some walking ones to get me started.

LivingMyBestLife2020 · 18/08/2020 08:39

Me please. I’ve gained a stone in lockdown 😩 it all seems to be on my stomach and I’m so uncomfortable in my own skin.

Bramblecrumble · 18/08/2020 13:49

Welcome @stardustliz and @LivingMyBestLife2020

2 days in, and I feel I doing well. I’ve been using MFP, and it’s reminded me why I’ve put on so much weight recently. Got to get through today though - working with a long commute so I’m really bad for snacking on the way home.

Bramblecrumble · 19/08/2020 10:59

I have mostly kept to mfp calories, just 74 over yesterday but no specific excersize. I've got a chill day off today so going to find something on YouTube I think before lunch. I'm fortunate to be half hour walking distance to work but with lockdown and no traffic I've been driving. I used to scoot/ walk sometimes so tommorow I will not take the car.

Im 162 calories over and no exercise but lost 2 hours as the GP was running so late and a friend has broken up with her OH so came over for company. Given we ordered in and had cake it could be worse

Bramblecrumble · 24/08/2020 07:17

Welcome to week 2. I didn't keep up with counting calories and meal plan but today is a new week. I am same on the scales. This week is about introducing excersize. I'm not going to drive to work and have set Wednesday and Saturday as my c25k days.

OP posts:
Swiftnicola · 24/08/2020 19:31

I also meant to meal plan but didn’t. Did well with mfp until yesterday when it went a bit pear-shaped-although not as bad as I’d normally be. I’ve decided that if I do enough exercise I will give myself an extra treat, but still generally sticking to the 1400 calories otherwise. I’m very aware that if I don’t eat a lot of protein I do end up feeling hungry and snacking on rubbish so I’m trying to keep an eye on that.

Bramblecrumble · 26/08/2020 07:07

I'm enjoyed doing week 4 day 1 of couch 25k. Started at that point as I've stop started before. Haven't tracked any calories but did turn down offer of wine and cake on two occasions.

DH & I are starting this on Monday. Looked at lots of other apps & plans is noom, body coach, SW, WW and settled on this as it’s free & seems similar to all the others.

littlefireseverywhere · 03/09/2020 20:30

We’re tracking calories DH & I, always amazes me how quickly you can use up the calories!
